Belated Black Friday Beauty Haul, 2014

November 28 was Black Friday, one of the most amazing shopping days on the calendar. It falls the day after Thanksgiving in the US and, basically, it's a huge every-man-for-themselves style shopping event. I liken it to the Boxing Day sales here in Australia but I think it's a lot more hardcore.

Every year I say I'm not going to buy anything and most years I do so this year I just decided to go with it! To see what I picked up, including recommended retail prices and the discount I received, keep reading!

#FoundationFriday | Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Review

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is super hyped about in the beauty community, with everyone raving about it or lusting to try it (to be honest, I like it but I haven't reviewed it yet as I'm yet to find my perfect colour match). As much as it's raved about, I don't think we hear enough about its lighter coverage sister, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup.

I've been playing with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup for a few weeks now so I thought it was time to show you all what I thought. To see what I think of it, keep reading!

Marie Claire The Parcel | Summer Edit, 2014

The Parcel by Marie Claire is one of the newest beauty subscription boxes to hit the Australian market. It is a seasonal subscription service, meaning that a new parcel arrives every quarter, with the contents of the box determined by seasonal trends.

I wanted to sign up for The Parcel in time for their Summer Box which was sent out in October but, unfortunately, I missed the boat on that one. I've since purchased Seasonal Subscription and I thought I'd share the contents of the Summer box which arrived on Friday! If you're interested in knowing pricing etc, keep reading and I'll talk you through it at the end.

To see what I received in my Marie Claire The Parcel Summer Edit, keep reading!

Holiday Season Make Up Look: Gold Eyes and Two Lip Options

On Monday I showed you a somewhat contemporary take on a Christmas look (bright blue liner and peach lips) but today I thought I'd show you something a little more traditional. I tend to associate gold eyeshadow looks with this time of year so that's what I decided to go for today.

To see how I created the look and how I used all these products, keep reading!

Holiday Gift Guide 2014 | Gifts under $50

Christmas is such an expensive time of year and, if you're anything like me, you might find yourself going a little overboard at this time of year. I can't help it, I love to give! With that in mind, I've come up with some affordable gift ideas which will hopefully ease some of the financial burden. Oh, if only Santa came with a prepaid credit card..

Holiday Season Make Up Look: Bright Liner and Nude Lips

People tend to become a little experimental and/or adventurous with their make up during the holiday season so this week I thought I'd share a few looks that I think would be great for this time of year.

With Christmas falling in Summer here in Australia, we have a bit more room to 'play' with our make up looks. I thought I'd start this series off by playing with a bright blue liquid eyeliner that I'd never even used before. Whilst I think the application was perhaps a little off, I absoluteely love the colour and I received so many compliments when I was out which is always nice!

To see how I created the look and how I used all these products, keep reading!

Holiday Gift Guide 2014 | Children

December 12, 2014 | , , , , , 0 comment
Even though it can be really difficult, the kids in my life are some of my favourite people to buy for. Kids seem to accumulate a lot of crap (everyone has their own definition of crap though, remember that), it's what their good at, so I think it's really important to consider the child, their interests and perhaps contact the parents to see what the child is in need of.

I feel like all of these ideas are gender neutral, purely because I'm an advocate for buying something for the recipient, not the gender, but I'm discussing ideas rather than specific ideas. You'll see what I mean when we get started!

The Bitch is Back | Where have I been? Jobs, injuries, best friends & more!

Hey everyone,

Crazy long time no talk, I know! How are you all doing? I haven't blogged in almost three weeks and that is absolutely crazy to me. I am so sorry. I have always been someone who tries to upload daily so, for me, three weeks is like an absolute eternity. In case you've been wondering what I've been up to, let's recap the last few weeks.

Firstly, if you read this update post you'll know that I was recently made redundant. My last day wasn't going to be until Christmas Eve but, nevertheless, it was a really stressful time for me. I've been applying for jobs like crazy, as I'm sure you can imagine, which just didn't leave much time for anything fun, including blogging! In amongst all the job applications and, unfortunately, rejections, I started to just feel a little crappy. This year has, without a doubt, been the hardest year of my life and I think everything just got on top of me. I'm feeling much better now though, and I've finally found a new job which I'm really excited about, especially because it's within the same organisation that I work for now. Even though I'll be moving offices I won't be saying a full on goodbye to the amazing people I work with now! Very exciting!

With all that said and done I intended to have a super busy weekend taking photos, writing and scheduling blog posts and just catching up on everything I missed in the blogosphere but, alas, my body has other ideas. I have somehow managed to fracture a few ribs (yes, ouch) and, whilst sitting and typing isn't causing me too much pain, taking photos for a blog post is just too much at the moment. Agh! I'm so disappointed and I promise I'll be back as soon as possible!

If you read my last update post you may remember that I mentioned that one of my best friends was due to come home last month, on November 17, after being away for six months. He surprised me at work a week before he was meant to be home which, of course, was amazing and I am so glad to have him home, even though he repeatedly lied to me for months on end! Sneaky, huh? It's been so good having him home and being able to make up for lost time!

I know I promised you guys a huge giveaway to celebrate my 1 million page views and, rest assured, it is still coming! I have collected far more goodies than I first anticipated and I'm still trying to figure out the best way to photograph it. Until then, I'm giving away $200.00 with a few other blogging lovelies so don't forget to check that out here

Lastly, I still have quite a few items available as part of my blog sale and I will be adding more over the coming days. Don't forget to keep checking back!

aaaand how have you been?

#FoundationFriday | Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation w/ Comfort Serum*

If you have been around for a while now you may have noticed that Rimmel London recently reformulated and repackaged their Lasting Finish Foundation in the recent months. I didn't really try the old formula (I think I owned it briefly but it was the wrong colour so I passed it on) however they've recently relaunched the Lasting Finish line as two foundations, the Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 HR Foundation with Comfort Serum* and the Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 HR Nude Foundation*.

I was sent both recently and, of course, I have been putting them to the test. Today I'm here to tell you what I think of the Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 HR Foundation with Comfort Serum*.

Holiday Gift Guide 2014 | My Beauty Gift Picks

When I was working on my Holiday Gift Guide for Women I had to keep reminding myself that not all women are as obsessed with beauty as I am or, at the very least, not every gift giver wants to gift the gift of beauty. With that in mind, I've decided to create a separate gift guide of my top picks this holiday season!

I'm not going to talk to you about the products, purely because so many of them speak for themselves, but I have already reviewed a few so I'll be sure to link anything I've written!

Too Faced Sugar and Spice Set Review and Swatches

After picking up one too many bits during the recent Sephora VIB sale, I vowed that I absolutely was not going to pick up any more Christmas sets when they finally hit Australian shores. After a particularly long day last Monday, however, I decided to browse my local Myer to realise that all of the holiday sets were released at Kit. Eeep!

I settled on the Too Faced Sugar and Spice Set, a set that contains a palette of 12 eyeshadows, deluxe sized sample of their Better Than Sex Mascara and a super cute gold cosmetics bag. I have been using almost daily since, so I thought I'd share my thoughts whilst it was still available!

Holiday Gift Guide 2014 | Women

Today I'm here with another gift guide. This time I have eight different gift ideas for females though, not males. For the next week or so, every second post will be a holiday gift guide. I've actually somehow managed to already have done almost all of my Christmas shopping, something I'm quite proud of, and I've managed to find a few cool bits that I thought some of my readers might like to know about also!

My last gift guide was all about gift guides for the men in our lives, possibly the people I find the most difficult to buy for! You can check out that post here

NARS Virtual Domination Cheek Palette Review and Swatches

NARS has released a cheek palette every holiday season for the past few years and, though I have always wanted to pick them up, not even I have been able to justify the purchase when it contained at least one, it not two, NARS powders I already owned. I can't remember where I first saw this year's palette offering from NARS, the Virtual Domination Cheek Palette (Instagram, perhaps..), but I fell in love with it, especially when I did more research and found out what the palette contained.

I picked up the NARS Virtual Domination Cheek Palette as soon as it launched on Sephora's site as I was so scared about it selling out. I've had it for almost two weeks now and I wanted to get this review up as soon as possible so you can still pick it up!

Holiday Gift Guide 2014 | Men

I'm super excited for today's post as it marks the beginning of yet another blog series, my Holiday Gift Guides for 2014. For the next week or so, every second post will be a holiday gift guide. I've actually somehow managed to already have done almost all of my Christmas shopping, something I'm quite proud of, and I've managed to find a few cool bits that I thought some of my readers might like to know about also!

Much like last year, I thought I'd start my holiday gift guide off with some of the most difficult people to buy, the men in our lives. Whether I'm related to them or not, I find guys incredibly difficult to buy for so I think any help in that area is always much appreciated!

Shu Uemura Art of Hair Cleansing Oil Shampoo and Conditioner* Review

When I have been sent a product to review I generally won't put it to the test until I've photographed it. After all, I figure the least I can do after I've been gifted a product is photograph it in its best condition. Anyway, my point is I was really excited when I opened my mail a while ago to find the Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Shampoo and Conditioner* waiting for me so I decided I'd give it one shot, take it straight out of my shower and photograph. Sounds easy, no? Fast forward about two months and I have honestly been loving the Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Shampoo and Conditioner* so much that I could not bear to take it out of my shower in case I forgot to put it back in.

To see why I love this, keep reading!

CHAT/UPDATE: Giveways, Christmas Gift Guides and Blog Sales

Hi everyone,

I really hope you're all doing well. I just wanted to check in today to let you guys know that I will be uploading a few exciting posts in the coming day/week. My 1 million page views (I still cannot believe it) giveaway has been promised to you a few times now, I know, but it definitely is coming. Every time I think I've acquired/bought everything I think of something else which stalls the launch date. This weekend I'm setting myself the absolutely overwhelming task of photographing everything so, at this stage, expect to see it launch sometime next week (subject to change). I am also really excited to be collaborating with a few blogging friends on another giveaway which will be launching in a few weeks. Get ready for the festive season, lovely people.

I've been wanting to know your stand on Christmas gift guides. Do you like them? Do you use them? Do you think they're a waste of time. At this point I'm thinking of doing two gift guides (him, her, under $20 and for the beauty lover) but I'd honestly love your feedback. Surprisingly, Christmas gift guides can be really time consuming and I don't want to put the time and effort in if it won't be of benefit to people.

Lastly, I will be hosting a blog beauty sale very soon. As a beauty blogger and obsessor lover, I have managed to acquire a fair amount of beauty products, make up especially, and it's honestly just not feasible that I finish them all. Seriously, it just isn't possible and things are just going to waste. In the past I have considered hosting a sale like this but not wanted to part with any of my beauty bits but now I'm ready. At this point I am just thinking that I'll be selling some make up products, however I may throw some skin and haircare in once I have a little look in my back up drawer over the weekend. Of course, I won't be giving anything that can't be cleaned appropriately and so far I plan on featuring brands like YSL, NARS, the Balm, Benefit and Essence. That is not all, of course, but it's the products I can think of without even looking in my collection. I'm still working out a few details like where I'll be hosting the sale, which is proving to be a lot more complicated that I thought. I'm currently deciding between Facebook, my blog and my online store. If you have a preference, please let me know. Make things easier for me!

Other than that, things are pretty good for me. I've recently been made redundant at work which definitely isn't ideal but there's not much that can be done. Oh the joys of working in the community services sector. I will finish on Christmas Eve so please don't expect any massive hauls for a while. This lady needs to save, unfortunately. Also, one of my favourite people in the whole world gets back from 6 months overseas in just over a week and I could not be more excited.

I think that's about all I have to update you all on today but, I have to say, I like the idea of these kinds of posts every now and then. I like being able to tell you guys what's going on in this crazy head of mine. For more of my bizarre thoughts, please follow my Facebook page. I really love sharing my random thoughts, links to things I love (so many Gilmore Girls buzz feed pages) and talk to you guys about anything and everything. Join the madness

What's going on for you at the moment? Now that you know about my life, I'd love to get little updates from you in return.

Don't forget to let me know what you think about Christmas gift guides and the blog sale also!

Shopping My Stash #1 ft. Too Faced, Stila, Tarte, Anastasia and Maybelline

Whether your collection is big or small, i's very easy to become stuck in a make up rut of sorts, reaching for that same products daily and rocking a very similar look everyday. Not only do I find myself losing my creativity for make up when get stuck in a routine but, of course, I'm not rotating the products in my collection like I should be. I'm making more of a conscious effort to mix up my daily rotation so I thought I'd show you what I've been playing with lately.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface Review and Swatches

The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushes were super hyped about last year. Everyone and their Mum seemed to have one, if not multiple, of these in their make up collection. I picked up the The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in my first ever Sephora order (haul here), tried it once and, I'll admit, I was pretty disappointed. Not longer after, I threw this bad boy to the back of my blush drawer and forgot about it (#confessionsofabeautyholic).

For some reason I pulled this out recently and, I have to tell you, I'm really diggin' it. Keep reading to find out why!

NEW(ish) RELEASE // Australis AC/ME Metallic Velourlips* with Swatches

Australis has recently released a new limited edition collection, AC/ME, inspired by all things rock 'n' roll. The range features Metallic Velourlips, Metallic Eyeshadows (an interesting cream/gel texture) and Metallic Nail Colours. I'm yet to review the whole range of Australis Velourlips but I wanted to share swatches of the AC/ME Metallic Velourlips with you all before they sell out.

Rimmel London Wonder'full Mascara with Argan Oil* Review

Rimmel London's newest mascara offering, the Wonder'full Mascara with Argan Oil*, has been popping up everywhere in the beauty community lately. Claiming to be the first ever Rimmel mascara with Moroccan Argan Oil, this mascara is designed to combat clumps, provide A+ definition and condition the lashes.

I've been putting this mascara to the test over the past few weeks, as you may have seen in my Urban Decay Subversion Eyelash Primer review, so keep reading to see my thoughts!

Monthly Beauty Favourites | October 2014

I am really happy to report that October has been a fantastic beauty month for me. I have been sent some absolutely amazing new releases, as well as rediscovered some total winners in my collection, which has made for some really inspired make up looks. I've found myself looking forward to applying my make up a lot this month which is so refreshing and something that I absolutely love. I really hate when getting ready and putting my face on becomes a chore, don't you?

MAC Lightful Marine Bright Formula Moisture Creme Review

MAC's Lightful Marine Bright Formula Moisture Creme has been a staple in my skincare routine for quite some time now so I was pretty shocked when I realised I hadn't written about it yet. Bad beauty blogger! I hauled this moisturiser back in June (see huge MAC collective haul here) and I've been using it almost daily ever since.

For all my thoughts on the MAC Lightful Marine Bright Formula Moisture Creme, keep reading!

THE BEAUTY DIET // Oct 2014 ft. Make Up Geek, Benefit, Nordstrom & Kit

This month I have managed to accumulate quite a few beauty bits. I'm not really sure how, nor am I sure when, but I have quite a few products to haul for you this month. It seems that self control was lacking in the month of October.

Keep reading to see what I picked up and why.
I've already written a separate post about the Benefit Cosmetics Limited Edition Pretty Parfait Makeup Set but, in case you missed it, here it is. This kit contains a full sized They're Real Mascara!, Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium and Stay Don't Stray in Light/Medium. It also had a deluxe sample of an all time favourite product of mine, their POREfessional Pro Balm.

AC ON TOUR Contouring & Highlighting Kit* Review and Swatches

People have been going absolutely nuts for Australis' AC ON TOUR (C ON TOUR? I see what you did there, Australis..) Contouring and Highlighting Kit* ever since a photo of it was uploaded onto the Australis Instagram page earlier this month. The resemblance to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit is uncanny so I can definitely understand the attraction but wow, I honestly cannot remember that last time people have been so excited for an Australian 'drugstore' release. Both the Australis Cosmetics and Priceline online stores are sold out and I believe most Priceline stores have too. Well played, beauty community.

I'll admit it, I was one of the people that scoured their local Priceline stores, maybe even calling daily, so I was absolutely thrilled when one landed on my doorstep (it was actually in my mailbox, if we're being honest, but that doesn't sound as good) thanks to the good people at Australis. I've been playing with it for a few days now and I wanted to get a review up as soon as I could so everyone who's been thinking about picking one up can see swatches and decide whether it's what they're after.

Emptying the Trash and Beauty Diet Update // October 2014

At the start of this month I honestly didn't think my October empties post would be very big. I wasn't halfway through many products (that I knew of) and I didn't have myself set on finishing anything. Fast forward about 25 days and, somehow, I've managed to accumulate a huge amount of products to show y'all today. Sure, some of that has to do with the fact that I did another product cull/share but still.

I have a selection of hair, skin, make up and body to share with you guys so let's get into it!

Savings Saturday #1

I was meant to upload a review today but, I'll be honest - It was not prewritten and I simply could not be bothered forming coherent sentences last night. Yup, it was seriously one of those days.

With all that said and done, I have a been meaning to share a few of these coupon codes with you for quite some time so I figured now was as good a time as any!

FOTD // Makeup Geek Shadows and Radiant Orchid Lips

The other day I was getting ready to head out when, being the savvy blogger that I am, I decided to photograph my face and turn it into a Face of the Day post. I've been really loving my Make Up Geek eyeshadows lately, as well as my Innoxa Limited Edition Radiant Orchid Satin Sheen Lipstick*, so I thought it was a great way to show everything off!

Innoxa Renew Age Erase Serum Foundation* Review

As I said in yesterday's post, I am all about the base (and not Meghan Trainor's) and I am on a never ending hunt for the perfect foundation. Sigh, aren't we all? When the Innoxa Renew Age Erase Serum Foundation* arrived on my door steps, I'll be honest, I didn't have high hopes. I always look for a foundation that's going to mattify my combination skin and control oil throughout the day, two things I just didn't believe this foundation would do. The colour match is absolutely perfect for me though, so I eventually gave in, tested this bad boy out and now it's up there in my Top 5 Foundations. Oh, how things change.

October 22, 2014

ACE YOUR BASE #1 ft. Benefit, Innoxa, Maybelline, Collection and MAC

Base make up is so important to me. I feel like it can totally transform your face and, for me, a good face of base make up makes for a good full face of make up. Does anyone else feel that way? I'm always switching up products in my foundation/base routine so I thought I'd start a new series where I check in every month or so and let you know what I'm using and what's changed. I really hope you like it!

Urban Decay Subversion Eyelash Primer Review

Even though I was blessed with quite long lashes, I have been lusting over the Urban Decay Subversion Eyelash Primer ever since it was released earlier this year. Pretty much everyone that I see mention it loves it so, even though I couldn't justify picking up the accommpanying mascara, I threw it into my cart when I placed my recent Nordstrom order. I have only owned this for a week but I have fallen completely head over heels with it and it's not a fling, it's real love.

October 20, 2014

Benefit The POREfessional Shine Vanishing Pro Powder* Review

Benefit's The POREfessional Shine Vanishing Pro Powder*, sister to the oh-so-famous POREfessional Pro Balm, was released towards the start of this year and I have been busting my guts to try it ever since! The reviews are great and, to be honest, I've really just been wanting to give it a shot because I love their Pro Balm so much! I'm not sure why I haven't picked it up sooner, or at all, but I was super excited when it arrived on my doorstep early this month/late last month.

October 19, 2014

GIFT IDEA // Benefit Limited Edition Pretty Parfait Makeup Set

I was getting my eyebrows done at the Benefit Brow Bar almost two weeks ago when I stumbled across the Benefit limited edition make up sets released for Christmas. I promise you that I had no intention of picking anything up, I really didn't, but the Pretty Parfait Makeup Set caught my eye I knew I had to take it home with me. To be honest, I could've easily bought a few of the sets so I did show some self control.

Anyway, the Pretty Parfait Makeup Set contains three full sized products (Gimme Brow in light/medium, They're Real Mascara and Stay Don't Stray) and one deluxe sized sample (a tube of The POREfessional which is about one third of their full size). This kit retails for $75.00 in Australia and, according to my calculations, buying everything individually would set you back just over $133.00. Bargain, don't you think?

Benefit's They're Real! mascara is a product I've always liked. I've never bought it for myself as I've managed to accumulate a fair few deluxe sample sizes of it but it's nice to own a full size. I have wanted to try Stay, Don't Stray for quite some time and, I must say, so far I am really liking it as both an eyeshadow and under eye concealer primer. I use Gimme Brow quite a lot but I have always used the darker shade. The girl who did my brows in store tried this on me and it didn't look horrible so I was going to give it a go but my Mum expressed an interest in it so I've passed it on. Finally, The POREfessional is a long time love of mine so I am so glad to have a deluxe sample, even though I am half way through a pro sized tube and I have a back up. I can pack it for all the trips I don't go on, can't I?

If you're looking for a beauty bargain for yourself, or to give to someone as a gift, now's the time to head to your local Myer store and check out their range of new and exciting Christmas gift packs!

I'll be reviewing these products slowly, of course, but let me know if there's something you'd really like to see!

Have you given in and bought and Christmas gift packs yet? Will you be picking them up for yourself, family or loved ones? Let me know!
