REVLON X CHLOE MORELLO SCULPT AND HIGHLIGHT CONTOUR KIT

Although I really don't need another contour palette I couldn't resist picking up the Revlon x Chloe Morello Sculpt and Highlight Contour Kit after I saw her video on it. I really like supporting people of the internet and I wanted to try an affordable and readily available kit to see if it was any good and whether I'd recommend it.

In the video Chloe explains that Revlon contacted her to get her feedback on a contour product they were creating, however it didn't become a fully blown collaboration until later in the production process. I'm not sure how and why it became a straight up collaboration but it's interesting to know that it wasn't the initial plan.

Anyway, enough about the backstory, let's get into it!

The Revlon x Chloe Morello Sculpt and Highlight Contour Kit is a powder contour kit that comes in two shades, Light/Medium and Medium/Tan. I picked up the Light/Medium kit which, upon swatching, I decided would be good for my pretty pasty skin. Chloe herself, who's not overly dark, uses the Medium/Tan kit so it's important to note that it doesn't cater for darker skin ladies.

Revlon x Chloe Morello's Sculpt and Highlight Contour Kit contains three matte shades, Banana, Bronze and Sculpt, as well as a highlight shade with a soft shimmer, Glow. When I purchased the product there was a promotion where you received a Revlon Contour Brush as a gift with purchase also. I'm not sure if that offer is still available but it's definitely worth asking!

Revlon x Chloe Morello Sculpt and Highlight Contour Kit Banana, Glow, Bronze and Sculpt

Props to Chloe for the shade selection in the Revlon x Chloe Morello Sculpt and Highlight Contour Kit. Bronze is warm enough to bronze with but not so warm that it's orange, whilst Sculpt has a great ashy tone which replicates real shadows without on grey. A Banana shade is a great addition to any palette as is great to both colour correct and brighten, but I feel like this one could've been a little more pigmented. Similarly I think Glow is a beautiful shade but its sheen is really subtle so a little more 'punch' would've been nice. That's not to say the highlight shades aren't lovely though because they absolutely are and they look lovely on the skin!

Before and after application of all four shades from the Revlon x Chloe Morello Sculpt and Highlight Contour Kit

The formula of the Revlon x Chloe Morello Sculpt and Highlight Contour Kit is good but not great. The shades are soft to touch, apply nicely and blend really smoothly without buffing away to absolutely nothing. They can be built up if and where needed for a more intense contour. The downside to them is the huge amount of kickback. See all the powder in the photo above? That's after just one use of the palette! Although that's not a huge deal and it doesn't really impact the product's ability to function, I wanted to share all my findings!

Overall I think the Revlon x Chloe Morello Sculpt and Highlight Contour Kit is a steal at just $24.95, especially if you managed to pick it up with the gift with purchase! I feel like the four shades included, at least in the Light/Medium kit, were perfectly selected and there's no colour that I can't see myself using which I don't say about many contour palettes. Whilst the formula does have a lot of kickback, it's nice to work with and looks beautiful on the skin.

What do you think of the Revlon x Chloe Morello Sculpt and Highlight Contour Kit? Have you tried it? Will you be picking it up?

  1. Thanks for the detailed review, swatches look little bit powdery but it is still a good deal for the price.
