Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface Review and Swatches

November 04, 2014 | , , , , , , , , ,
The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushes were super hyped about last year. Everyone and their Mum seemed to have one, if not multiple, of these in their make up collection. I picked up the The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in my first ever Sephora order (haul here), tried it once and, I'll admit, I was pretty disappointed. Not longer after, I threw this bad boy to the back of my blush drawer and forgot about it (#confessionsofabeautyholic).

For some reason I pulled this out recently and, I have to tell you, I'm really diggin' it. Keep reading to find out why!

In case you've been living under a rock, the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush claim to be, as the name suggests, a blush that lasts 12 hours or more! It is said to be made of amazonian clay, an ingredient that is said to remove surface oils to mattify the skin, nourish, hydrate and improve clarity. I'm not sure how much of the whole amazonian clay 'thing' is a gimmick but hey, if it sells products..

The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface is describe as a 'light pink', though Ic call it an absolutely beautiful cool toned pink. It has a matte finish, with absolutely no sheen or shimmer, and blends out absolutely beautifully onto the skin. Like many cool toned pink blushes, this blush does an absolutely amazing job of brightening up the face for a more awake and refreshed look.

Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface has a great texture to it. It is incredibly pigmented, as you can see from the swatches above, so you don't need much as all! It is really finely which means it blends beautifully into the skin. I have read that some people have issues with the product kicking up excess powder and, even though I haven't had that issue, I urge you to work with caution. I easily wear my make up for 12 hours on a working day and I feel like this lives up to the 12 hour claim. Whether it stays exactly as pigmented it is when applied, well, you be the judge.

The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface is a really beautiful shade and it's definitely made me want to add a few more to my collection. Gosh, don't you just hate that? They retail for $26.00 which, on initial though, may seem like a lot but I honestly think they last forever. You need such a little amount of product to get a beautiful result and I've never ever seen someone hit pan on one.

Have you tried a Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush? Let me know which colour to pick up next!
