Emptying the Trash | April 2014 Empties

I seem to go through phases with my empties posts. Some months I go through products like no tomorrow, other months I barely finish anything. My last Emptying the Trash post was a collective post, featuring empties from February and March, but it was so big that I've decided to do them monthly now. Hopefully this means I can talk about the products I've finished up a bit more.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo
Every man and their dog likes this product but, to be honest, I'm still on the fence about it. This is the second tube I've gone through and I'm onto my third so don't get me wrong, I use it, I just don't know if it actually makes a difference to my skin.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
I really like this product, as you can see from this review. It's a really gentle facial exfoliant that I tend to use daily. It's really improved the texture of my skin and this is probably the fourth bottle I've gone through and I'm already onto another.

The Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash
I really like this cleanser for my oily/combination skin. It cleanses the skin without leaving it tight or dehydrated and I feel like it removes surface oil really well. I am already onto another tube of this bad boy. You can see my full review of this product here

Peter Thomas Roth Mega-Rich Body Wash
This deluxe sample came with one of my Sephora orders so I decided to give it a shot. It was okay, nothing great, and I didn't really like the Micro-Beads. I always use my body washes on a loofah or body brush so I just feel like beads are unnecessary. I'm already onto a new body wash and, at $21.95 for a 250mL bottle from Kit Cosmetics or Mecca Cosmetica, I definitely won't be picking this up.

Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge
If you read this review you'll know that I absolutely love this for washing my make up brushes. I've gone through countless bottles of this and I shout my love from the rooftops! If you're looking for a new product to wash your brushes, do not look past this!

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads
I jumped on the First Aid Beauty bandwagon a little while ago because so many American bloggers were talking about their stuff. These were so hyped about so I picked them up and, I have to say, I really like them. I'm onto my second tub of pads (with a third stashed away as back up) and I have a review in the works. Stay tuned!

Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
This product has been sitting on my dressing table for sooo long with about one use left so I just  decided to jump the gun and ditch it. I really liked this product when I first picked this up, as you can see in this review, but now I'm fairly 'meh' about it. I have another full-ish bottle which I will use up but it's not something I'd tell anyone to rush out and get.

Soap & Glory Hand Food
I really love this hand cream and it's another product that I've talked about a ridiculous amount of times (I also reviewed it ages ago - here). This particular tube sat on my desk at work and was a life saver on dry hand days in the office.

So that's everything I finished up this month! It's nowhere near as much as last month so I don't know, should I predict a big Emptying the Trash post for May? We'll see.

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know.

  1. I haven't jumped on the Effaclar Duo bandwagon yet, but I'm also not too sure whether it's worth the money if it'll make a big difference to my skin. I DO however want to try First Aid Beauty, I've heard so much rave about it!
