Is it just me or is December always a crazy busy month? Between wrapping up work for the Christmas break, actually celebrating Christmas and the New Year and trying to spend time with as many family and friends as possible while you're all on leave, life is pretty hectic!
I've decided not to do a yearly beauty round up this year but, even though it's late, I still wanted to show you what I was lovin' in December.
Until recently I'd always given beauty sponges a miss. I used to think that they were too much effort, took longer than a brush and I didn't really like the overall effect, however I'm a total convert now. I was sent some new releases Real Techniques and decided to give their Miracle Complexion Sponge* another shot and on my goodness. Not only does it take just as long but the finish is nicer. I use it almost every time I apply my foundation now and I find myself going over foundation applied with a brush to make sure it's not cakey. Go get yo'self one!
I've owned the It Cosmetics CC Cream for at least a year now, however I bought it in a shade that's too dark (Light) and I've never really had a play. It is so hyped up in the beauty community so I decided to buy it in a more suitable shade (Fair) and I really love it. It's got light to medium coverage that's build able and looks really natural on the skin. I love that it has an SPF of 50 but I do find that, even when set with powder, it moves around a bit as the day goes on.
After seeing a few people rave about the Sephora Outrageous Curl Mascara I decided to pick it up and oh my word! This mascara offers amazing amounts of volume, whilst holding a curl all day. It's super black so defines the eyes really well and, although it can get clumpy, it's totally worth it!
I'm a bit of a #TEAMINTERNET geek so I picked up a few Tanya Burr Cosmetics products in a recent Feel Unique order and I adore her lipstick in Pink Cocoa. Although the scent isn't amazing (a bit of an old school lipstick scent, if you know what I mean), the colour is beautiful and the formula is so comfortable and wearable.
Lastly I have a product that might be cruel to talk about because, much like all Essence collections, it was limited edition and I don't think it's available anymore. The Essence Powder Blush in #01 You Can Stand Under My Umbrella caught my eye so I picked it up and I've worn it almost every time I've done my make up since! It is a mauve colour with a gorgeous sheen that means I don't need to wear a highlighter also. If you see it around still, grab it! You won't regret it.
It's a week or so into January and I've not been wearing much make up as I'm still on leave so I don't know how much I'll have to talk about at the end of this month but we'll deal with that later. Until let, I hope you've had a fabulous start to the New Year!
