I make no secret of the fact that I have combination to oily skin. It's annoying and it can make keeping foundation on the face quite difficult. I'm the sort of person that constantly has a powder in her bag to touch up so that A. I'm not left shiny and B. I can touch up areas where I've somehow lost half my face base. Now that I'm working full time I'm finding the longevity of my base make up to be an oh-so-important factor and I feel like I've finally come up with the winning product formula.
To hear about my All Day Face secrets, keep reading.
To prime I use a combination of two products. I start off with Benefit's POREFessional. I use a pea sized amount and just smooth this over my t zone. After that, I use a similar sized amount of the Smashbox Photo Finish More Than Primer Blemish Control, a new addition to my collection. This primer has a great finish and I find that it works well with the Porefessional underneath. (NOTE: When I tried applying the Benefit POREFessional over the primer it wasn't so good..). The Benefit primer fills in pores and helps with oil control whilst the Smashbox one helps to keep my foundation on all day and tackles my pesky pimples.
Next it's onto foundation. I tend to use one of two, Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat or Estee Lauder Double Wear. I prefer to use the Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat but sometimes I feel like I'm having a bad-skin-day or I feel like I want my foundation to last even longer so I'll opt for the Estee Lauder Double Wear. On days where I feel like I need to bring out the big guns for my under eyes I'll go in with my Benefit Erase Paste. Otherwise I'll use whatever concealer I'm using on my blemishes. Other days I'll let MAC's Pro Longwear Conclear do its magic. I also use that concealer on blemishes. Lastly, I love to use a tiny bit of the NARS Radiant Touch Creamy Concealer on the inner corner of my eye, working it downwards, as I feel like it highlights without being too Kim K. Finally is the hero of this whole face - bareMinerals Matte Spf15 Foundation. I pat this all over the face and nothing budges!
With this look I find that I get a tiny bit shiny throughout the day but it's nothing that a midday blot won't fix and it certainly doesn't compare to how my foundation used to be. If you think this is a lot of product, I'm sorry. It probably is but make up is something I truly love to use and experiment with so I don't mind.

Always look your best,
Sophie

ReplyDeleteI love the Porefessional, it works so well! When I know im going to be out for the whole day, I usually opt for long lasting products and powder is a must. I also like a makeup spritz spray to refresh the makeup during a long day too.
ReplyDeleteI just bought benefits Porefessional and erase paste last weekend and I love them to bits!
ReplyDeleteIs MACs Pro Longwear Concealer full coverage?

Jealous of all your gorgeous products! I recently started using Porefessional (since you rave about it so much hehe) and actually really like it! I did notice a big difference with my pores... now I think I have to try the rest of your routine ;)
