October Favourites, 2012

October has been a really exciting month for me. On October 5 I had the opportunity to be a make up artist at a youth Pamper Day held at my local youth centre. I will be writing a post on this day soon, so stay tuned. As I'm sure you can tell, that was very exciting for me. This month as also been a busy one. I'm studying my Diploma of Community Services and Youth Work and, with only weeks to go until I finish my course (YAY!), I've had a bit of an assessment overload.

Anyway, this post isn't about me and my life, it's about the make up I'm loving!

Much like I was in September, I'm loving my combination of Benefit's the POREfessional primer  and Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I haven't used my Setting Spray as much this month because I'm scared it'll run out soon, but I'm finding my make up is staying well well with Benefit's the POREfessional primer alone.

This month I've rediscovered my MAC Studio Fix Fluid. In September of last year I wrote a review comparing it to Revlon's Colorstay Foundation (click here to read the post) and, in my opinion, I was quite harsh. Regardless of what I said back then, I'm loving MAC's Studio Fix Fluid. I own two shades, NC20 and NW20, and it seems that both colours work for me. I'd love to be colour matched by MAC again to see which the pros think works best.

If you saw a recent post uploaded by me, you'll know I recently acquired my first Illamasqua product. Lizzi from Make Up and Smell the Coffee sent me an Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Solstice. This gold cream eyeshadow is absolutely beautiful and so diverse. I've used this product very lightly to give my eye a small amount of shimmer and colour. I've also applied it quite heavily and created some beautiful gold smokey eyes. It's a great product to create a Metallic Eye look with.

I'm still really loving bright nail polish. For the first time since I uploaded my Goodbye, Black Nail Polish post, I'm actually wearing black nails (with an accent nail - stay tuned for a Nail of the Day post) and, if I'm completely honest with you, I don't really like it anymore. I've definitely been converted to bright nails!

Lastly, I'm enjoying being part of Project Pan. I've finished two products so far and, with thirteen to go, I'm looking forward to seeing what else I can finish. In the next few weeks I'll post my first Project Pan update, letting you know what I've finished so far.

So that's what I've been loving in the month of October. Things haven't changed too much this month, purely because I'm trying to use 'stuff' up. What have you been loving this month? Are there any posts you've been enjoying?

Always look your best,
Sophie
