As you all may or may not have known, Australia is following the footsteps of America etc. There are now multiple companies providing customers with a range of beauty samples from a great selection of brands in a nicely presented box for $14.95. When subscribing, it took me a long time to decide which was the best for me (it was out of Lust Have It!, Glossy Box and I Love This Box).
Lust Have It! has a 'cancel anytime' policy if you have a month to month membership. If not, and you have a year membership, the subscription can be transferred to someone else. This type of box also has a rewards system. Once a subscriber reaches 100 points, they're entitled to $10 off a full sized product that can be purchased from the LHI store. Points can be earned a number of ways; a person will receive 15 points for every box received, as well as 10 points for every product reviewed.
Before I get into what was in this months box, I also want to tell you guys a few of the brands LHI works with. Obviously I like a majority of the brands, but these are the ones that really appealed to me.
- O.P.I.
- Kérastase
- Lancome
- Laura Mercier
- Lush
Anyway, I subscribed late last month and my first box, the November box, arrived today. Yay! Let's get into the contents! Before I begin, let me apologise for the excessive photos. This is the first Lust Have It! post so I wanted to show you guys the packaging etc. Next month there will be less, I swear!
First off, I know everyone says this, but I love the packaging. It's so neat and 'professional'. I guess that's the word I'm looking for?
The box contains a card that details the products included (including an overview and the recommended retail price), as well as an introduction to the box and Lust Have It! updates.
I only received this box today, so I'm unable to review the products. Instead, I'll type out the information provided to me so you're able to get some insight into the items. If possible, I'll also include my initial thoughts.
RoC Complete Lift Daily Moisturiser - RRP $59.00 for 50mL
This box contained not one, not two, but three 5mL samples of their 'NEW' Complete Lift moisturiser.
"This moisturising cream is enriched with hydrating agents for comfort lasting all day long. THPE (I'm not sure what that means, sorry!) technology, a patented molecule, the result of fives years of research, which targets skin firming, is now partnered with Bugrane, offering a NEW lift and fix technology. Bugrane (Restharrow) is a wild plant root extract which plumps and hydrates the skin. The skin appears dense and more supple."
Wow, that's a lot to take in and, to be honest, I didn't understand most of it. Regardless, it sounds amazing and I can't wait to give it a try.
I haven't tried this on my face yet, just my hand, but it smells delicious! It also absorbed into my skin really well, leaving no oily residue, so it seems like it might be okay for my oily skinned friends.
Nude By Nature Natural Lip Liner in Chique - RRP $14.95
This lip liner is full sized. How good is that?! Score! It also comes with a brush on one end, to blend harsh lines for a more natural look.
"To stand out, you need to draw the line! 100% natural and with no toxic ingredients, the velvety formula glides on smooth & easy to deliver long-wearing, water proof colour."
I've used this product already, just to try it, and I really like the colour. I used this colour as an all over lip colour and I was really happy with the result. The colour is super natural (I think it would work well with any skin tone) and it has a nice matte finish.
Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose - RRP $79.00 for 30mL
This box came with two 3.5mL samples.
"Lancome tells a new love story, filled with lightness, magic, but also sensuality. Tresor Midnight Rose is a colourful, upbeat and joyful fragrance with embodies a mischievous femininity.
From the very first moment, it's love at first sight between a deep rose absolute and vibrant raspberry. Next, is jasmine and peony meet fresh blackcurrant bud absolute and intense pink pepper. And for the final touch of seduction, Virginia cedar essence, vanilla and musk warm up the floral notes."
When I first sprayed this scent I absolutely hated it. For the first 30ish seconds, all I could smell was blackcurrant and I was definitely not impressed. However, as it tried I was amazed. It became one of the most amazing things I've ever smelt! Don't get me wrong, the blackcurrant smell is still quite strong, but I can't wait to wear it.
I'm so lucky the box came with two because my Mum instantly fell in love with the smell so I gave her one. Sharing is caring, right? The samples are 1.5mL each.
Hawley International Miracle Shine 2 Step Miracle Nail Shiner - RRP $6.95
This box contained a full sized nail shiner.
"This revolutionary professional buffer, that gives women fabulous looking nails in seconds, works equally brilliantly on all nail types - natural, polishes and acrylic. Quick & easy two steps create the ultimate shine. Green side prepares and removes. White side shines."
I know this has nothing to do with the actual product (and I might just be being critical and mean) but the summary of this product was soooo poorly written. I edited it when adding it to this post, but it was crazy! Anyway, it sounds like a fairly good product but I'm yet to try it.
Keratase Nectar Thermique - RRP $39.50 for 150mL
This box came with five 10mL sachets.
"For the first time, heat becomes an ally for dry hair. Rich in essential elements, Royal Jelly Extract is a key ingredient which intensifies nutrition and creates ultimate softness. Thermo-protective ingredient, Gluco-Sleek helps protect the hair fibre from the damaging effects of heat-styling. Spread a hazelnut sized amount of the Nectar Thermique through the lengths and ends of bathed, towel-dried hair. Style hair with heat device.
This product also claims to instantly nourish hair, protect it from the damaging effects of heat, facilitate the easy glide of brushes and control frizz for a silk-like feel. I can not wait to try this product. Seriously. Anyone who knows me knows I'm obsessed with anything hair related, and this sounds amazing. My hair is fairly damaged (due to bleaching and heat styling) so I have my fingers crossed that this hair product lives up to the claims.
All in all, I'm really happy with this box. I'm thinking of subscribing to other boxes too, depending on what their reviews are. For the moment, I'll keep with this one only, and I can't wait to see what December has in store for me!
Please comment below and let me know what your favourite product from the box is, especially if you've tried some of them.
Always look your best,
Sophie

How much is it to subscribe Soph?
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy. I'm so sorry I didn't include that information in the post. You'd think I would've, wouldn't you? Oops. Anyway, Lust Have It!, as well as all other beauty boxes I've enquired about, charges $14.95 a month for a monthly subscription.
ReplyDeleteOh man. I can't believe I didn't include the price in the the whole post, sorry! Lust Have It!, as well as all other sample boxes I've seen in Aus, is $14.95 and arrives monthly.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I posted about the November box on my blog as well and had a similar problem with balancing the amount of photos.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying out the moisturiser. So far, so good. After reading that you used the lip liner as an all over lip colour, I might give that a go today :)
I'm guilty of that perfume thing too Sophie...if I don't like the perfume the second I spray it on I'm like "Oh God! I hate it!" but we're idiots because it's not the first smell that counts, it's the later smell. I try to keep that in mind (and it's also why I rarely buy perfume because by the time I like the scent it's 10 minutes later, I've left the shop, I've forgotten the name and I'm over it! Maree :)
