TOP FIVE FACE MASKS FOR ALL SKIN TYPES

Following on from my somewhat recent posts where I talked about my update skincare routines (here and here), I thought it would be a good idea to talk you through some of my go to face masks. These are the five face masks that are always in constant rotation and they're all masks that would work for a lot of different skin types!

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate
This face mask is fab and always in my collection. It's contains a mix of chemical and physical exfoliants that clarifies and softens my skin, leaving it feeling like baby's ass! It's super strong and should only be left on for a minute or so but I don't feel like it's drying or too harsh, even on my sensitive and reactive skin! ExfoliKate works wonders on my combination skin, however I think that people who identify as being dry would benefit from it also! If you think it's going to be too harsh for you, there's also an ExfoliKate Gentle but I've not tried that.. This is my go to mask when I'm feeling congested and like I've got a lot of texture going on.

LUSH Rosy Cheeks Fresh Face Mask
Rosy Cheeks has been one of my favourite beauty discoveries of 2016. I wrote a full review about it recently but, in short, it's fantastic. For me it has the benefits of a clay mask without being drying and irritating to the skin. The rose and calamine base makes it feel super calming on the skin and I also feel like it does wonders for reducing the size and severity of any breakouts! When I don't think my skin needs anything but I want to give it a treat, this is always the mask I reach for.

Origins Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask
This face masks is my go to whenever I feel like my skin has a one way ticket to break out city so it must be doing something right! It's another clay mask but, again, I don't find it drying! Much like with Glamglow (which I wasn't a fan of, by the way), you can see all the oil on the surface of the skin and it really feels like it unclog pores and removes any nastiness from the surface. As weird as it sounds, it feels like my skin is able to breathe better after using this mask.

LUSH Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask
I reach for Catastrophe Cosmetic, a blueberry based face mask, whenever my skin's looking a little dull and lifeless. Whilst the array of vitamins and minerals act as a mild antiseptic and reduce inflammation on a breakout, I also love how brightening it is. I'm not sure if it's the blueberries and other anti oxidants but I definitely notice a boost in radiance and 'life' after using this mask. As a side note, it smells incredible also. I have a full review of this mask here.

Origins Original Skin Retexturing Mask with Rose Clay
I feel like this Original Skin Mask takes my favourite parts of the other four masks puts them in one neat package which is something I'm not mad about. The rose clay mask absorbs oil and other nasties from the skin without drying it out, whilst the jojoba beads refine the skin to improve its texture. I feel like other skincare absorbs into the skin so well after this mask is used and, for that reason, it's my go to when I really want to give myself a pamper session!

Every one of these masks is a long time favourite of mine and I really recommend them all. They're all relatively affordable (although the Kate Somerville one can get pricey if you buy the bigger size) but I am always so impressed with the results after using them!

What're your go to face masks?
