Marie Claire The Parcel | Spring Edit, 2016

September 27, 2016 | , , , , , , ,
My Marie Claire box arrived last week and, although I skipped uploading posts on my Autumn and Winter boxes, I thought I'd share what I received in this box, the Spring 2016 Edit. If I'm honest, I've been a bit disappointed in my last few Marie Claire boxes so let's see if this edit treats me any better, shall we?

The contents of the box. This month's box was all about getting you ready for the warmer months which I think is pretty evident from the goodies inside.

I'm going to do things a bit different this month and not type out all the information we get with the card. I hope that's okay.

First up we have C Lab & Co Coffee & Coconut Scrub, MOR Mon Amie Adele Luminous Body Milk and the St Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse and Applicator Mitt. If you're a person who likes to self tan I can see how this selection of products is really useful but, as someone who doesn't, it's a bit of a bummer. I might use the skin prep products but, to be honest, I have so many body scrubs and lotions that I might not also.

Next up is a sample of The Body Shop's Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask, Sunsense Sensitive Invisible SPF 50+, an Essano Argan Oil of Morocco Hair Duo and a generous sample of the Narciso Rodriquez For Her Eau de Toilette. Out of all this I am definitely most excited to try the mask from The Body Shop! I've heard some great things about them and they were almost all sold out when I went to check them out at my local store so it'll be good to give them a shot. It also came with a 25% off card but, from what I can tell, it only applies to other skincare items after you buy one of the new masks. Well played..

The fragrance smells okay but I'll probably give it to my Mum as it's a more mature scent and, as you might be able to tell from the packaging, it looks like something spilt somewhere along the way so that's a bit annoying.

Let's look at the makeup-ish type bits in the box; a Nude by Nature Matural Mineral Cover in Medium, Nuxe Multi Purpose Dry Oil and Maybelline New York The Nudes Palette. Again, I'm just a bit eh. Nude by Nature isn't really a brand that appeals to me and Medium is far too dark for a paley like myself and, although it's nice, I have more Nuxe Dry Oil bottles than I could ever possible need and I really don't need another. Lastly there's the Maybelline palette; It's not the best palette but it's so accessible and such great value that I think it was a great addition to the mix, it's just a shame that I've already tried it!

That's the Spring 2016 Edit of Marie Claire's The Parcel done and dusted. I don't know whether I'm expecting too much but I am a bit disappointed in this month's box but that might just be because I'm a pale bitch who doesn't fake tan and hates shampoo and conditioner samples.

I'm considering unsubscribing from The Parcel but it's not to do with the content, more the fact that there's only so many samples a person can try and/or store.

What do you think?

  1. Pity the products didn't suit you very well, but at least it all looks like decent sample sizes from good brands.

  2. I put my order in 6 days ago, then got an email from them saying I had to activate my account and create a password but the link they sent me didn't work!! The money came out of my account even though I emailed them on the day and 5 days ago on their instagram, website and sent another email... I think I got scammed :( Never ordering from the Parcel AU again.. So jealous that you actually got it!
