Rimmel London upped their brow game last year with the launch of their Brow This Way collection, a two piece collection featuring a Brow Sculpting Kit* and a Brow Shaping Gel*. I've had this collection in my possession for almost six months now and I only recently realised I never blogged about it, so it's definitely time to share my thoughts on both products in the range.
Rimmel London's Brow This Way Brow Styling Gel* is a product designed to define and fix brows into place. They claim that it has a high precision application that makes it easy to brush the brows into a uniform shape and a long lasting formula tso set the brows for an all day groomed look. The product comes in four shades #001 Blonde, #002 Medium Brown, #003 Dark Brown and #004 Clear.
#001 Blonde, #002 Medium Brown and #003 Dark Brown
The Rimmel London Brow This Way Brow Styling Gel* is both a hit and a miss in my opinion. The shade range is absolutely fantastic, as you can see from the watches above. All three tinted shades are quite cool toned which makes them perfect for the brows and a nice change from the super warm products we tend to see hit out drugstore shelves. As someone who's attempting to transition to blonde hair, it's so refreshing to see an affordable ash blonde brow product on the market! All three tinted shades are relatively pigmented, as you can see, but they're not overpowering. This gel provides a relatively good amount of hold, however my brows are quite tame. If you have unruly or uncooperative brows, this may be enough for you which is definitely something to consider. The downside of this product is the wand, in my opinion. As you may be able to see in the photos above, this wand is significantly bigger than any other brow gel I've used in the past and I find it such a faff to use. Applying this takes much more care and concentration than I'd care to give and, for that reason alone, it's a product that I don't reach for very often. If you've got Cara Delevingne style luscious brows, this won't be an issue for you, however.
The Rimmel London Brow This Way Brow Sculpting Kit* is a product featuring a wax to shape the brows, powder to set the wax and create definition, a double ended brush and a spoolie. It comes in two shades, #002 Medium Brown and #003 Dark Brown (I know, where is #001?) and is housed in a mirror less but fuss free compact.

Once again, I think the shades are fantastic. The selection is definitely missing a light taupe shade (I have hope that they'll release one eventually, especially as the number starts at #002) but both shade ways can comfortably be used in the brows. The waxes in both kits are cooler than their powder neighbours, however I think that works. The wax has a lovely and smooth texture that glides through the brows without catching too heavily on individual hairs. It has enough tint that it assists in adding definition and shape to the brows and is a perfect base for powders as they sometimes have difficulty in applying directly to skin in sparse brow areas. The powders have a lovely and smooth texture that doesn't kick up fall out when used. My one warning with this product would be that it's easy to go overboard. Both the wax and powder are very pigmented so it's easy to go overboard. Apply with caution until you get the hang of both shades and you'll be fine!
Both the Rimmel London Brow This Way Brow Sculpting Kit* and Brow This Way Brow Shaping Gel* have been available since August (I told you I accidentally left this far too long) and both products retail for $12.95. As you may have guess, my pick of the range is the Brow This Way Brow Sculpting Kit*, however I think both are great products.
Have you tried anything from the Rimmel London Brow This Way collection?
What did you think of it?
*This product was sent to me, however all opinions are my own. I was not paid for this review
I love how the chemist brands are upping their game in so many areas of beauty. I haven't tried these ones from Rimmel as I'm currently loving the Chi Chi brow pomade but they look promising!
