#FoundationFriday | Rimmel London Match Perfection with SPF 20*

Finding a foundation that's going to match your skin tone and concerns is not easy feat so I was super thrilled when, Rimmel London's has recently relaunched and reformulated Match Perfection Invisible Coverage Foundation* arrived on my doorstep!

I have the previous formula in a couple of shades and, whilst I liked it, I definitely didn't love it and, for that reason, a review never made it onto the blog. The new formula claims to be perfect, protect and hydrate the skin with coverage that's weightless, traceless and kind to skin. 

That's a whole lot of claims, is it not? As always, let's get into it! 

Rimmel London's Match Perfection Invisible Coverage Foundation* is also said to contain light reflecting and soft focus powders that help say goodbye to enlarged pores, dark circles or discolouration by blurring imperfections. 

All in all, I was pretty interested in this foundation when I first read the media release. The hydration claims raised a few alarm bells as my combination/oily skin doesn't tend to extra hydration, but I didn't want to disregard the product altogether because of it. 

Like almost all the foundation in Rimmel London's line up these days, the Match Perfection Invisible Coverage Foundation* is house in a solid glass bottle with a blue lid to identify it at quick glance. The blue lid has remained the same from the previous formula which is a good thing for existing fans of the Match Perfection range. 

Other than saying that it is invisible, I can't see anything in the media releases that states what level of coverage the Rimmel London Match Perfection Invisible Coverage Foundation* is meant to have. I'd say that is has medium but buildable coverage. As you can see, you can still see redness from blemishes after application but the overall skin tone is definitely evened out. It has a natural finish that I'd describe as satin, so it doesn't look flat on the skin.

With the weather warming up, especially here in Perth, the addition of SPF 20 is fantastic and will definitely tick off a box or two in many people's morning routines! I didn't do a flash test whilst wearing the Rimmel London Match Perfection Invisible Coverage Foundation* as I never really use/need flash photography, but it's something to consider if you do.

The only downside to Rimmel London's Match Perfection Foundation Invisible Coverage Foundation* is the lasting power. As I mentioned earlier, I have combination/oily skin and in the heat of Summer I don't find that this foundation provides me with the oil control I need to get me through a day, especially a work day. It's great for quick trips to the shop etc, but after 7+ hours I feel like I'm a bit of an oily mess, even after setting it with a matte powder during application. I think this will be a product that I gravitate towards as the weather cools down.

With eight shades available, I think you'll be able to find something to suit your skin tone if you're a light/medium skinned lady. I wear the second lightest shade in the range, #100 Ivory.

Rimmel London's Match Perfection Invisible Coverage Foundation* has been available since November. It retails for $18.95 and can be picked up from Priceline, Target, Kmart, Big W, selected pharmacies and selected Coles and Woolworths stores.
