Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Nude Collection* | Review & Swatches

November 16, 2015 | , , , , , , , , , ,

Nude lipsticks are my weakness which is no secret, especially if you follow me on Instagram and see my face of the day posts. I love the wearability and comfort of a good nude lipstick so I was over the moon when I received the press release for Rimmel London's newest lipstick offer, the Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Nude Collection*!

These lipsticks released in September, so they've been available for a while now, and I've been putting them to the test ever since they hit my mailbox around then. Now that I'm back, let's get into what I thought of the Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Nude Collection*!

There are five lipsticks in the Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Nude Collection*, as you can see from the photos. They have the same unique subtle sweet scent that the original Lasting Finish lipsticks are known for and, whilst it might not appeal to everyone, I really love it. It's sweet enough to be enticing, but not sickly or overpowering.

In terms of formula, that's reminiscent of original Lasting Finish lipsticks as well. They apply incredibly smoothly, almost with a slippery/waxy, feel to them and are extremely comfortable. The texture of the lipsticks means that, on me at least, they don't last the eight hours they claim to but not many lipsticks, if any, lipsticks do. Additionally, they're such wearable colours that a mirror free touch up is totally do-able.

#40, #42, #43, #45 and #48

Now for what you really want to know; let's talk shades! The selection of five shades seems slightly erratic to me but I'm sure there was a method to Kate's madness. #40 is a light peach nude, #42 is an apricot nude, #43 is a super warm tan brown nude, #45 is a rose mauve and #48 is a coffee shade with burgundy undertones.

To me 'we' probably could've skipped #40. It is such a nude shade that it's borderline concealer lips on me and I just can't think of many skin tones that it would be flattering on. I also think that there was the possibility for a lighter mauve shade but that's just because they're the shades I tend to gravitate towards the most.

The Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Nude Collection* is one of the best affordable lipstick collections that I've seen in a long time and it plays host to some amazing nude lipsticks. As I mentioned, these shades have been available since September and retail for $12.95 each. You can pick these up anywhere that stocks Rimmel London; Priceline, Priceline Pharmacy, Target, Kmart, Big W, Chemist Warehouse and selected pharmacies, Coles and Woolworths stores.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? What's your favourite shade?

*These products was sent to me, however all opinions are my own. I was not paid for this review
