Innoxa Restore Hydrating Facial Cleansing Oil* Review

I've been using MAC's Cleanse Off Oil for over two years now and cleansing oils are  without a doubt, the most effective way I've found to remove my make up. Using oils as part of a make up removal/cleansing routine can be so effective as the oil works as an emulsifier. Basically it helps to break down and dissolve the make up, meaning it's a lot easier to remove. With that in mind, I was super excited when I was emailed about the release of Innoxa's Restore Hydrating Facial Cleansing Oil*.

A cleansing oil at a much more affordable price point? Uh, yes please! To see what I think and how it compares, keep reading!

Innoxa's Restore Hydrating Facial Cleansing Oil* claims to be a cleansing oil infused with nourishing oils, Vitamins and Antioxidants to assist in the prevention visible signs of premature ageing and even skin tone.

As mentioned, it contains an array of nourishing oils including Argan Oil to help hydrate and tighten and Soybean Oil to help reduce uneven skin tone and the appearance of ageing. It also contains orange oil which helps to give it a really lovely sweet orange scent.

Unlike other cleansing oils I've tried, the Innoxa Restore Hydrating Facial Cleansing Oil* doesn't contain a pump which can be somewhat frustrating. It has a small opening at the top that dispenses a drop or two at a time which is the upside; there's no gush of products coming out of a big opening!

To use this product I take somewhere between a 20c and 50c (Australian currency) sized amount of the product into my palms and massage it all over a dry face. I then wet my palms and work a little moisture into the skin too before removing it with a flannel.

Let's talk effectiveness. I'm going to be straight with y'all; The Innoxa Restore Hydrating Facial Cleansing Oil* is a good product but it doesn't top my MAC Cleanse Off Oil. I feel like the texture of this oil is a lot thicker than what I'm used to and, as such, it takes a lot more product and a lot more effort to really be able to work it into the skin. It removes face make up just as well, yes, but I have found that it really struggles with my mascara. I will almost always go in with an eye make up remover afterwards which is something I just don't want to have to do if I don't have to.

It's also important to be aware that it does leave somewhat of an oily residue on the skin which may not be for everyone. Cleansing oils are always the first step in my cleansing routine and I go in with Alpha H's Balancing Cleanser afterwards, however I know not everyone does and they may not want an oily film on their face afterwards.

All in all, Innoxa's Restore Hydrating Facial Cleansing Oil* is a good product. It's not terrible by any means and I think I would like it a lot more if I wasn't so in love with MAC's equivalent. If you're wanting to test the waters with cleansing oils and don't mind following up with an eye make up remover, I'd definitely recommend you check it out.

This product is available now and it retails for $17.95. You can pick it up from Priceline and Myer stores, as well as at selected pharmacies and online at www.innoxa.com.au.

Have you tried the Innoxa Restore Hydrating Facial Cleansing Oil*? What do you think of cleansing oils?

*These products was sent to me, however all opinions are my own. I was not paid for this review
