Marie Claire The Parcel | Spring Edit, 2015

Spring has sprung and, in true Sophie form, I'm officially in a funk. Spring isn't too bad, sure, but it means summer is on the way and that is too much for me to handle. I absolutely hate that heat so brace yourself, I'll be doing a lot of complaining over the warmer months!

All that aside, my Spring Edit of the Marie Claire The Parcel box arrived about two and a half weeks ago (I've been a bit MIA again, I know) and I decided it was time to show you the contents.

As you can see from the box below (side note, how gorgeous is it?!), this month Marie Claire celebrates their 20 year anniversary. The Parcel has been around for about a year so it's not The Parcel that's having a birthday, more the magazine and such. Either way, the box was larger than normal this month and it was adorned with a gorgeous glitter print, leading one to believe there was going to be some really exciting things inside.

To see what was inside my box and, more importantly, see if it lived up to the 'hype', keep reading.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner
Love the heat but hate the frizz? Then it's time to reconsider your haircare. Sleek strands begin with the right shampoo and conditioner. Frizz Ease Smooth Start promises to start blocking frizz in the shower for easier styling. Powered by the exclusive Frizz-Mending Complex and enriched with natural olive oil, it smooths strands, replenishes moisture and restores hair's natural defence against humanity.
There's something you may not know about me, I'm a hair snob. I grew up with a hairdresser sister who worked with a very exclusive haircare brand so I really struggle to use 'cheaper' products - It's bad, I know. With all that in mind, I'm not sure whether I'll use these.

Redwin Cococnut Balm
Powdered by 100 percent certified organic coconut oil, there are so many uses for this multitasking ointment: repair dry hands, heal elbows and lips or soothe burns, cuts and insect bites.
This sounds like one of those do-it-all products like LUSH's Ultrabalm All Purpose Balm or Lucas' Paw Paw Ointment. It's not a product that I'd necessarily go out and pick up but I think it'll make a great addition to my handbag.

St Tropez Gradual Tan in Shower Tanning Lotion
Introducing the first ever in-shower fake tanning lotion. It promises a streak-free gradual slow, plus up to 24 hours hydration. But how does it work? Apply to wet skin in the shower, working from your ankles upwards. As with all tanning, leave your hands and feet until last and quickly rinse your palms. Wait three minutes before rinsing and then pat dry. Your tan will develop throughout the day. Repeat daily.
I don't artificially tan so this is product that I'll definitely pass on to one of my tanning friends.

MOR Rosa Noir Hand & Body Milk
Cloak your skin with the hypnotic floral scent of Rosa Noir. This silky Hand & Body Milk contains a luxe blend of shea butter and macadamia oil to deeply nourish, while extracts of wild rose, hibiscus and fig revitalise and hydrate.
I think I'm the only 23 year old who gets excited about hand cream. I love deluxe sized sample hand creams as they're perfect for the handbag. I think I'll get a lot of use out of this.

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge
A new feminine fragrance inspired by the glamourous, more provocative side of the original Modern Muse. A sexy contrast of rich roses awakened by ripe fruits with a velvet crème accord.
This perfume is nice, definitely, but it's not my kind of scent. It's a bit too floral and rosy for my liking so I'll be passing this on to my Mum.

Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum
If multi-tasking is your middle name, you expect your skincare to work just as hard as you do. This clever serum claims to understand the particular needs of your skin, providing custom repair for damage. Apply morning and night after cleansing to address inflammation, uneven skin tone and dullness.
I like the concept of this skincare product but I really wish there was a little more information about what it does; the description is all a bit vague. With all that said and done, my skin is playing up somethin' chronic at the moment so it might be worth giving it a shot.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick
Happy birthday to this lipstick icon! There's nothing like a slick of lippy to instantly make you feel more glamorous or even daring, and over the past 30 years, L'Oreal Paris has released an incredible 350 shades to help women look good and feel great.
Over 350 shades? That's pretty impressive! There were four different colours that we could've received and I got #337 Perfect Red. I'm not a big red lip wearer so I think I'll pass this on to someone else too. It'll just go to waste if I keep it.

So that's everything that I received in my Spring edit of The Parcel from Marie Claire. To be honest, this box didn't really live up to my expectations. The glittery packaging and the larger box led me to believe it would be full of weird 'n' wonderful products when, in reality, it was probably the most disappointing The Parcel I've received to date. The products in the box weren't bad, not by any means, but I just expected more.

I know I'm a bit late in uploading this but, tell me, what did you think of the contents?
