I do a pretty long commute to get to work every day. I need my make up to last about 12 hours, even more if I'm heading out after work, so long wearing make up is an absolute must. Primers are a great way to extend the wear of a face of make up and, as such, I love testing them out! I was sent Rimmel London's newest primer offering, the Lasting Finish Skin Perfecting Primer*, and lately I've been putting it to the test.
The Rimmel London Lasting Finish Skin Perfecting Primer* is a primer designed to extend the wear of foundation for up to ing Primereight hours. It is one of the newest additions to the Rimmel London Lasting Finish range (there's a review of the powder coming soon), though it's been out for about six months because I haven't gotten my butt into gear to review it.
Unlike many of the primers I gravitate towards, Rimmel London's Lasting Finish Skin Perfecting Primer* is not silicon based. It has a thick moisturiser/lotion like texture which is something quite different to me and I find that I need to use a lot more of the product than I would with a more 'slippy' product. Rimmel London claims that the foundation blurs imperfections and minimises the look of pores and I wouldn't agree with these claims. It doesn't intensity the look of them, not by any means, but I don't think this it blurs or minimises them either.
This primer is not the best one for my skin type. It's really hydrating, probably too hydrating for my combination/oily skin, and it doesn't control oil as well as I would like/need. I can''t comment on whether it increases the longevity of my face because, unfortunately, the oil breaks it down.
The Rimmel London Lasting Finish Skin Perfecting Primer* has not worked for me but it's definitely not a fail product, not by any means. I believe this primer would be absolutely perfect for dry skinned ladies and gents, and I've read a few reviews that agree. As I said, this product has been available since October of 2014 and you can pick it up for $13.95 from Priceline, Priceline Pharmacy, Target, Kmart, Big W, selected pharmacies and selected Coles and Woolworths stores.

Have you tried the The Rimmel London Lasting Finish Skin Perfecting Primer*? What did you think of it? If you're commenting your thoughts, don't forget to tell me your skin type also!
*This product was sent to me, however all opinions are my own. I was not paid for this review
This sounds interesting, I've yet to try a non-silicon primer. My skin is drier too so maybe it'll work for me!
