Shu Uemura Ultimate Remedy Extreme Restoration Duo Serum* Review

The Shu Uemura Art of Hair line has really stolen my heart of the past twelve (ish) months. I've not tried a lot from them, no, but everything I have tried has been amazing. Shu Uemura's Art of Hair Ultimate Remedy Extreme Restoration Duo Serum* has been a constant product in my haircare routine for the past 3-4 months now, and now I'm finally here to tell you why!

Ceramide is a component of hair that assists in making is strong and beautiful. All of the products in the Shu Uemura Art of Hair Ultimate Remedy line contain high levels of Ceramide to reinforce the hair's fibre and maintain flexibility.

The Shu Uemura Art of Hair Ultimate Remedy Extreme Restoration Duo Serum* is a dual phased leave in hair treatment that combines a cream product containing Ceramide 2000 PPM technology (Ceramide parts per million) and a serum rich in Lotus Infusion. The Japanese Lotus Flower is known for its moisturising properties and ability to bloom in the most hostile of environments. This product is designed to keep hair sealed and in tact, providing nourishment and adding shine, controlling frizz and maintaining any other problem areas throughout the day.

As you can see from the photo above, there's two definite chambers and two definite formulas to this product. I don't know what they're like separately, of course, but together they make one of the most luxe and most effective leave in hair treatments I've tried. It smells absolutely divine, like every Shu Uemura haircare product I've tried, and it's so effective.

In short, Shu Uemura's Art of Hair Ultimate Remedy Extreme Restoration Duo Serum* is amazing. It's a super intensive leave in hair treatment the softens my hair, tames frizz and leaves the hair feelings and looking amazing. Over times I've definitely noticed a difference in the texture and overall quality of my hair and I can only attribute it to this product. To apply, I use one/one and a half pumps (just a little more than shown in the image above) and run it through towel dried hair before brushing it, focusing the product on the ends and working it through the mid lengths also.

If you're looking to treat your hair, Shu Uemura's Art of Hair Ultimate Remedy Extreme Restoration Duo Serum* is the way to go about it. It's not cheap, retailing for $68.00, but it's very effective and such a pleasure to use.

If you've got unmanageable hair, what do you use to tame it? Let me know!

  1. I'm really interested in the Shu range, but the price is the thing that keeps me from buying it. :(

  2. This sounds really good! I will have to wait until I am finished up with some of my other haircare products before trying it but it sounds like it would be worth a purchase for sure.
