MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Palette Review and Swatches

The MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Palette has been on the top of my Sephora wish list for the longest time, especially after everyone started raving about their reformulated eyeshadow formula. I thought about buying it for quite some time now and finally bit the bullet in their recent VIB sale, as you may have seen in this haul.

MAKE UP FOR EVER's Artist Palette comes with eight eyeshadows; one matte and seven in a range of shimmer formulas (iridescent, diamond and metallic). It contains a good range of shades, from neutrals to coppers to blues and purples, which is why I thought it'd be the perfect palette to start me off with their new shadows!

I am absolutely loving this palette and I have found myself reaching for this palette consistently since it arrived. For more information on the palette, keep reading!

In a nutshell, this eyeshadow palette is amazing, it's everything I hoped it'd be and more. I am so impressed by the a shade selection and quality of the eyeshadows in this palette, it really is impressive. Each and every shade is so pigmented, applies and blends so smoothly and lasts all day or night.

M-536 Milk Tea (matte), I-524 Pinky Beige (iridescent), I-550 Olive Gray (iridescent) and D-652 Celestial Earth (diamond)

Milk Tea - A light warm toned matte brown
Pinky Beige - A light warm toned pink peach champagne with a pearl finish
Olive Gray - A warm taupe brown with a pearl finish
Celestial Earth - A dark copper brown with a frost finish

ME-728 Copper Red (metallic), ME-230 Peacock Blue (metallic), D-926 Blueberry (diamond) and ME-930 Black Purple (metallic)

Copper Red - A bright metallic copper
Peacock Blue - A medium blue teal with a metallic frost
Blueberry - A violet purple with a metallic frost finish and small glitters
Black Purple - A dark warm burgundy purple with a frosted finish

As you can see from the swatches above, all eight shades are incredibly pigmented and the palette offers some great diversity in terms of shade selection. All four of the formulas in the palette (matte, iridescent, metallic and diamond, and a dream to work with, though the shade D-926 Blueberry is probably the worst performing; it's just a bit sheer.

Using the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Palette makes my mornings so exciting. At the moment I'm loving a combination of Milk Tea in the crease, Olive Grey or Celestial Earth all over the lid and Pinky Beige in the inner corner, with Blueberry buffed onto the lower lash line if I'm feeling adventurous.

MAKE UP FOR EVER's Artist Palette is currently available from Sephora for $42.00US and I'd highly recommend it to anyone that can get their hands on it. If you're not sure about sourcing the palette, I'd seriously consider picking up a few of the individual shadows to give the new formula shot!

Have you tried any of MAKE UP FOR EVER's reformulated eyeshadows? What palette have you been loving lately?

  2. It looks really pretty. I'm a bit surprised with the swatches as I thought the brights would be more vibrant.
