Monthly Beauty Favourites | March and April, 2015

I didn't get a monthly favourites out last month (or many posts at all, to be honest) so I thought I'd combine my standout products of the last two months for this Monthly Beauty Favourites post!

Before I get onto it, I want to apologise for my lack of posts in '15. I'm constantly thinking of ideas for the blog, don't ever think I'm not, but my 12hr work days mean finding the time to blog is quite difficult. After a day in the office looking at the computer, sometimes I struggle to justify spending my evening in front of one also. I'm still trying find a balance but please know I haven't forgotten about you and I love y'all more than ever!

With all that mushiness aside, let's get into things!

Last time I went to the hairdresser (or maybe the time before?) I was talked into buying the muk 1 Minute  Ultra Soft Treatment and, now that it's basically empty, I'm so devastated. I used this treatment in place of a hair conditioner and I really loved it. To be honest, this is probably one of those treatments that just coats your hair with silicon but, damn, it felt nice!

I'm not sure why but I decided to pull my Alpha H Liquid Gold out of my skincare stash semi-recently but I am so glad that I did! The texture and appearance of my skin has improved so much and I can attribute it to product as it's all that changed. Not only that, I broke out quite substantially after becoming ill with what my doctor said was influenza and I believe this has significantly reduced healing times.

And now onto make up! Lately I've been using a combination of the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circles Eraser and L.A. Girl Pro Conceal under my eyes and I really love it. The Maybelline concealer does a great job of brightening the under eye area, whilst the L.A. Girl concealer neutralises the skin tones and evens things out.

I have been in love with the Australis AC/ME Metallic Eyeshadows (especially Bronzonce) ever since they were realised but I have't really spoken about them that much as they're limited edition and I didn't want to tease. Australis recently announced that they were re-releasing them as part of their permanent line under the new name of Metallix Eyeshadow. There's six shades in total which includes the three from the AC/ME Collection (though Bronzonce has been renamed Gold Gaga) and I would highly recommend you check them out. The formula of these shadows is so unique and they're absolutely stunning.

My last make up favourite is the Illamasqua Gleam Highlighter in Aurora. I didn't use it for the longest time, though I don't know why, but I'm really enjoying playing with it at the moment. I use the Furless Black Beauty Angled Contour Brush* to pat it onto my cheekbones and I really love the healthy glow it gives!

Lastly for my favourites this month, let's talk about a couple of brushes. I grabbed the Models Prefer Airbrush Buffing Brush in Priceline's recent 40% off make up sale and I could not recommend it more. I have so many buffing brushes but this is the only one I want to use at the moment and, FYI, it's great with the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. To buff out the under eye concealer combo I talked about above, I've been loving the Abbamart Small Duo Fiber Stippling Brush. This brush makes blending concealer out an absolute dream. If you're going to invest in new brushes, I highly recommend you check these two out!

Sorry this post is a bit long winded but what can I say? I had a lot to talk to you all about! These products are all fantastic and I recommend each and every one.

What have you been loving lately? Let me know!

*This product was sent to me, however all opinions are my own. I was not paid for this review

  1. I adore the MP Buffing Brush. I've had it for ages and rave about it to everyone! I think it's almost as good as my Rae Morris foundation buffing brush(which is about 4 times the price!).
