FOTD | Feelin' Crap with Colour Pop

I've been pretty unwell lately (with what my doctor thinks is/was influenza) so, unsurprisingly, make up hasn't been high on my list of priorities. I had to pop out of the house for a little while yesterday and, when applying my make up, I just wanted something that was going to brighten my face up and make me look .. alive.

I've haven't been playing with my Colour Pop shadows enough since I received them (which you may not believe as I had a previous Colour Pop post Face of the Day that I've not yet uploaded) so I decided to pull them out as I knew the colours all worked together.

To see how I used the products below, keep reading!

I started off by spritzing the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water all over. This product has really impressed me so far and I honestly love how refreshing it is. Once that has dried, I like to go in with a pore filling/mattifying product and at the moment I'm loving the Innoxa Skin Perfecting Pore Vanishing Cream*. I used my go to foundation of the moment, NARS' All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, because I know it wears well, makes my skin look pretty healthy and works well with the primer. To conceal I applied a combination of the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circles Eraser and L.A. Girl Pro Conceal and buffed it in with a small duo fibre brush. Setting my foundation was a combination of the MAC Studio Fix Pressed Powder and Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray but, of course, I forgot to photograph both of them. Whoops.

I pulled out my NARS Virtual Domination Palette for my cheeks yesterday, using Laguna Bronzer to warm up the perimeters of the face and Final Cut Blush to add some colour back into my cheeks. Anastasia Beverly Hills' Contour Palette was also used to highlight and contour (Banana under the eyes and Java to contour).

Yesterday's eyes were oh-so-simple. I started off my attempting to shape my untamed eyebrows with the Benefit Brow Zings Brow Shaping Kit in Medium. I didn't do much but I just wanted to define the shape a bit more. For actual lid colour, I primed my lids with the MAC Painterly Paint Pot before I pulled out my Shaaanxo x Colour Pop Quad. Using a synthetic brush I buffed Selfie, a warm brown matte shade, into the crease. To add some definition and shape, I putted Deluxe into the outer corner and, finally, Xo was used on the lid and inner corner to brighten everything up. For more definition, I ran a super thin line of the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Lionfish on the upper lash line and ran the MAC Chromographic Pencil in NW15/NC20 on the waterline. Mascara was a combination of the Max Factor Masterpiece Transform Mascara on the upper lash line and MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara on the lower lashes.

I forgot to pull the lip products I'm wearing out of my handbag but it's super simple. I lined my lips with the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Re-Shape and Resize Lip Liner in Pillow Talk and went over the top with my MAC Lipstick in Angel. That's the look! As easy as they were, I am so in love with how the eyes worked out and it's definitely a look I'll be recreating. This look also features a few product favourites but you'll have to wait for a favourites post to see what they are!

What do you think of the look? What are your tips/tricks for doing your make up when you're not well?
