Rimmel London Provocalips 16HR Lip Colour* Review and Swatches

Traditionally, I don't tend to like lip products that are marketed as being super long wearing. I find them to be really drying, quite uncomfortable and not really worth the hassle and discomfort, if I'm honest. With all that in mind, I didn't have very high hopes for the Rimmel London Provocalips 16HR Lip Colours* when they were released in December and I was lucky enough to receive the full collection.

The Rimmel London Provocalips 16HR Lip Colours* claim to be a 16 hour wear formula that is kiss proof, food proof and transfer proof. They come in eight wearable colours, with the shade ranges varying from natural shades to pinks, reds and fuchsia, for the brighter lip lovers! My favourite two shades are the two on the left, #110 Dare to Pink and #200 I'll Call You which are both typical 'Sophie shades'. I think the collection could've done with a few nice oranges and corals but, hey, maybe they'll add them if the product does well.

#110 Dare to Pink | #200 I'll Call You | #230 Kiss Fatal | #310 Little Minx
#500 Kiss Me You Fool | #550 Play With Fire | #730 Make Your Move | #700 Skinny Dipping

Rimmel London' Provocalips 16HR Lip Colours* are a traditional double ended style long wearing lip colour with the colour on one end and balm on the other. Unlike other long wearing lip colours that I've tried though, the balm is more of a liquid which means it's a lot easier to apply and does not drag!

In a nutshell, I really like the Rimmel London Provocalips 16HR Lip Colours* and they're the only long wearing lip product in my collection that I'll continue to reach for. To wear, I apply one even layer of the coloured lip product and let it completely dry before applying the balm. Once applied, they Rimmel London Provocalips 16HR Lip Colours* have that somewhat vinyl feel to them that I've find most products like this to have. In saying that though, it's a lot more comfortable that a lot of long wearing lip products in my collection and, after a while, you don't tend to 'feel' it anymore.

The lasting power on these bad boys is amazing! I've applied these, eaten a pie, drunk and worked a full eight hour day without needing to touch up. That's how long wearing they are! They wear evenly on the lips and don't seem to crack and peel around the middle like some tend to on me. Being someone that generally finds these lip products uncomfortable, I've found myself applying the lip balm side of the product throughout the day without noticing it disrupting the colour underneath which is a huge bonus for me!

All in all, I am really impressed by the Rimmel London Provocalips 16HR Lip Colours*. The colour range is nice (though I do think there's room for improvement) and the lasting power is fantastic. I'll still reach for a MAC Cremesheen lipstick, for example, over these, purely because I prefer a more hydrating formula on the lips, but I now know there's a long wearing lip product that I'm not completely opposed to wearing.

I'm a bit late on this review so the Rimmel London Provocalips 16HR Lip Colours* have actually been around for a while now, being released in November of 2014. They're retailing for $17.95 and you can pick them up from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Target, Kmart, Big W or anywhere else you buy your Rimmel London products!

Have you tried the Rimmel London Provocalips 16HR Lip Colours* yet? What did you think of them?

*This product was sent to me, however all opinions are my own. I was not paid for this review
