#FoundationFriday | Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation Review

The Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation was all over the interwebs last year and the year before. Everyone seemed to love it! I had no intention to pick it up, nor did I have any real desire to try it, but I picked it up when I saw it on sale for 50% off after Christmas. I've been testing it out for a few weeks now so keep reading to see what I think!

The Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation claims to be a product that acts as a primer, foundation and concealer, hence the 3-in-1. There's also a lot of hype surrounding it's long wearing and high coverage formula. With all of this in mind, I thought the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation would be a thick and cakey hot mess which would mask my combination/oily skin to a point of no return. I didn't have very high expectations for this product but I was pleasantly surprised!

As you can see from the photo above, the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation has an impressive medium to full coverage foundation that can be built up if desired. I'm wearing nothing else on my face in the after photo and, as you can see, it has evened out my skin toned quite nicely, though my blemishes and redness is still peeking through. The coverage is great but I definitely wouldn't say that this can be used in place of a concealer. Also, please note I took these photos when I had a cold - my skin is a lot better now!

A little of the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation goes a fairly long way. The formula is quite thin and it can actually look quite streaky if you don't work it into the skin really well, which I assume it why so many people enjoy using it with a damp Beauty Blender. I'm not a Beauty Blender fan so I've been using a Real Techniques Buffing Brush or a Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush and I think it works well with them, though you do need to be sure to pat it in once you've buffed it. This foundation feels really lightweight on the skin and is much more comfortable to wear than I expected. It doesn't feel cakey at all.

The Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation has great lasting power, though I've never used it without a primer (purely because I don't use any foundation without a primer). It has been crazy warm in Perth, Western Australia, lately and this foundation has been one of the only  foundations that has lasted the summer heat and looked fairly decent at the end of a 12 hour day. For example, the photo below was taken over six hours after application and it looked just as good, if not better.

If you're looking for a good foundation, affordable or otherwise, look no further than the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation. Super hyped up products often really disappoint me but this has lived up to and surpassed all my expectations. If you're thinking of picking it up, you can grab it from Priceline for $19.95, though you may want to wait until it goes on sale somewhere to make it an even better bargain.

Have you given into the hype and tried the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation? What did you think of it? What foundation would you like to see featured in my #FoundationFriday series next?

  1. I love your before and after picture, very helpful ^^ I haven't tried this on myself yet, but I have seen it around plenty of times. Would love to try it someday as it sounds like a good foundation for combo oily skin!

  2. I haven't tried it simply because I think it would be too drying for my skin but I did like using their True Blend in highschool if I remember correctly (too long ago now) x

  3. I've read and heard so many raves about this foundation - I've been tempted to pick it up for a while, but have resisted because I have so many foundations already. I'm glad to hear that it's working so well for you!

  4. The foundation looks lovely on your skin! I remember trying it when it was released and Iw as working in Priceline. I didn't really like how it finished on my skin but perhaps it was because of how I applied it. Not on my list at the moment as I've got heaps of foundations to finish (don't we all? lol) but it does sound like a good affordable base.
