As I said in last week's Care for your Hair post, haircare is something that I take quite seriously, though I don't talk about it often on the blog. With that in mind, I thought it might be an idea to start up a bit of a series where I talk you through my favourite products from each haircare category, starting with shampoo.
If you didn't check out my post on shampoo, here's a quick overview of my hair - My hair is a medium length, I'd say, and pretty colour damage. I colour my hair a lot and it's not always a subtle colour, but we'll cover that in a bright colour post later in the series. My hair is a bit curly too. Sometimes the curls are nice, other times it's a frizzy mess. When my hair is reasonably healthy I like to use curl enhancing products to neaten the curl and tidy the frizz.
Conditioner is the second step of the hair cleaning routine; if shampoo is like a facial cleanser, think of conditioner as the facial moisturiser. As I mentioned in the last post, conditioner closes up the hair follicles which were opened when you shampooed. This smooths everything out and makes it a lot more manageable. I've also read that it improved the bonds in the hair to strength it, but I can't get too into that as it got really technical and went way over my head. People often opt for conditioners which will add hydration and moisture to the hair in an attempt to repair damage, but there's so many different products on the market so I'm sure you'll find a conditioner or ten to meet your haircare needs!
In case you're wondering, I tend to rotate my conditioners a bit. I'll probably conditioner my hair every second time I was it, using a treatment/mask in its place on the days when I don't use an actual conditioner. I wash my hair as soon as I jump in the shower, apply my conditioner and then put it in a bun and go about the rest of my shower which I feel like gives it ample time to do its thang. And now for some of my favourite conditioners -
The TONI&GUY Nourish Conditioner for Damaged Hair is a basic conditioner that I reach for when I don't want anything particular for my hair, just a bit of hydration. It's not too heavy for the hair and I really love the affordable price point. Bumble and bumble's Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Conditioner is the most recent addition to my conditioner collection and I really like it. I haven't actually used this bottle yet but I've been using a mini that I received in the Bumble and bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Travel Set and I love what it does for my hair. It has a really light creamy gel formula that smells divine and distributes through the hair really nicely. Brushing my hair after using this conditioner is an absolute breeze and I am really looking forward to using it more regularly now I have a bigger bottle in my life!
In my last post I mentioned the fact that Aveda is one of my favourite brands so I'm sure you're not surprised to see another of their products in this post, Aveda Damage Remedy Restructuring Conditioner. This conditioner is another beautiful product and using this is always such a treat. It is such a rich treatment that I find really improves the condition of my hair with regular use. Finally, I fell head over heels for the Shu Uemura Art of Hair Cleansing Oil Conditioner* when I was trialling it and it's one of the only haircare products that I miss now I don't own it. This conditioner did an amazing job of smoothing and detangling my unruly locks. It also keeps the ends of my hair feeling super hydrated until the next wash, rather than having them feel dry again a day later.

Conditioners are one of my favourite haircare products and I really feel like they do so much for your hair. A good conditioner can work wonders and, as you can see, I tend to opt for something a little more expensive in my hair when it comes to conditioners as I really value them in my routine.
What are your favourite conditioners?
