Holiday Season Make Up Look: Bright Liner and Nude Lips

People tend to become a little experimental and/or adventurous with their make up during the holiday season so this week I thought I'd share a few looks that I think would be great for this time of year.

With Christmas falling in Summer here in Australia, we have a bit more room to 'play' with our make up looks. I thought I'd start this series off by playing with a bright blue liquid eyeliner that I'd never even used before. Whilst I think the application was perhaps a little off, I absoluteely love the colour and I received so many compliments when I was out which is always nice!

To see how I created the look and how I used all these products, keep reading!

As always, I primed my face using Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and used a foundation that I recently fell in love with, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light. This foundation has quite light coverage so I used my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer under my eyes and on and blemishes or pigmentation that I wanted to cover up. To keep the make up on all day, I patted the MAC Blot Powder all over.

I warmed up the perimeters of my face with a large duo fibre brush and NARS' Laguna Powder Bronzer. I lightly contoured with Anastasia Beverly Hills' Fawn Contour Powder and dusted Anastasia Beverly Hills' Banana Highlight Powder under my eyes to brighten things up. I didn't want much on my cheeks because I knew my eyes were going to be bright so I used a combination of NARS' Matte Multiple in Anguila (not pictured) and Benefit Boxed Powder in Dandelion.

I've been testing out the Poni Cosmetics Brow Powder in Chestnut* lately so, of course, that's what I'm wearing. It's a really great colour!
MAC's Paint Pot in Painterly has been my eyeshadow base of choice lately so, naturally, that's what I chucked on. I then added some light definition to the crease with the  Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. The star of this look is, no doubt, the Revlon Skinny Liquid Liner in Electric Blue, a crazy blue liquid eyeliner. I created a thin line and small flick which I think is so summer appropriate and fresh. I'm not 100% happy with the application but it's a really thin brush that I'm still getting the hang of but I'm sure I'll get there. MAC's Chromographic Pencil in NC15/NW20 brightened up the whole look when it was applied to my waterline and, finally, I applied the Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash Mascara

Last but not least, I'm wearing the Rimmel London Provocalips in Dare to Pink* on my lips. I'm really fond of these colours but stay tuned, I'll be talking all about them in a review soon!

And that's today's seasonal make up look! Even though it's not very festive, I think it's perfect for this time of year and I'll definitely be rocking it again soon.

What do you think of this look? Have you tried any of these products? What kind of looks do you tend to gravitate towards at this time of year?

  3. That eyeliner is intense, so beautiful! It is perfect for these Summer months. Dare to Pink is really pretty on you! Unfortunately it's too pale for me and completely clashes with my skintone.
