#FoundationFriday | Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Review

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is super hyped about in the beauty community, with everyone raving about it or lusting to try it (to be honest, I like it but I haven't reviewed it yet as I'm yet to find my perfect colour match). As much as it's raved about, I don't think we hear enough about its lighter coverage sister, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup.

I've been playing with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup for a few weeks now so I thought it was time to show you all what I thought. To see what I think of it, keep reading!

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup is a lightweight foundation with sheer to medium coverage and a sun protection factor of 10. It has a natural satin finish and is designed to last 15 hours. Best of all, Estee Lauder claims that this foundation controls oil and won't 'melt off' in the heat or humidity, meaning it could be the perfect foundation for us Aussies!

In short, I am totally smitten with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup. I have been 'getting into' lighter coverage foundations lately and I feel like this one has the perfect amount. It evens out my skin tone, as you can see below, without creating a mask and has a super natural finish.

I've tested a few different methods of applying the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup and, like always, my favourite way to apply it is using a flat top kabuki brush. Even though the coverage is quite sheer and it's lightweight on the skin, I feel like this foundation is actually quite thick in consistency (weird, I know) which means that I find myself using more of it than I do most foundations in my collection. It's really strange but it still applies nicely so I'm not really complaining.

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup is incredibly long lasting! I've been wearing it with my Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and MAC Blot Powder and, I have to say, it's a winning combination. The foundation stays extremely well with any combination of products, these are just what I've found to work really well lately. Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup has become my 'go to' foundation for a workday, purely because it stays on really well throughout the day and requires little to no touch ups.
Before and After

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup is available in seven shades here in Australia, as opposed to ten in the US, and it retails for $50.00. I wear the lightest shade available in Australia, 1.0, and I find it to be a really great match. I really love this foundation and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who's after a light to medium coverage foundation that will stand that test of time. If you're thinking this might be a great foundation for you, head over to your local Myer or David Jones store to test it out and/or grab a sample!

Have you tried this or any other product from the Double Wear line? What did you think of it?

  3. If you’ve got a round face, you probably also have fuller cheeks and an overall youthful look. Whilst we think all face shapes are beautiful, we understand it’s also fun to play around with your features, so we’ve asked our Colour Maestro and face makeup for her top tips on how to sculpt and define your features using makeup for a chiseled look that still complements your natural beauty.
