THE BEAUTY DIET // Oct 2014 ft. Make Up Geek, Benefit, Nordstrom & Kit

This month I have managed to accumulate quite a few beauty bits. I'm not really sure how, nor am I sure when, but I have quite a few products to haul for you this month. It seems that self control was lacking in the month of October.

Keep reading to see what I picked up and why.
I've already written a separate post about the Benefit Cosmetics Limited Edition Pretty Parfait Makeup Set but, in case you missed it, here it is. This kit contains a full sized They're Real Mascara!, Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium and Stay Don't Stray in Light/Medium. It also had a deluxe sample of an all time favourite product of mine, their POREfessional Pro Balm.
Over two different orders I managed to accumulate 22 Make Up Geek Individual Eyeshadows and five pigments, their Fall Pigment Bundle. I'm not going to list all of the shades here but keep scrolling for names and swatches of all of the shades. For a first impression of the first ten shades I bought, click here. Just so you know, I'm counting these as three products. I bought all of the eyeshadows in place of a few eyeshadow palettes I wanted so I figured it was fair to count them as a palettes and the pigments came in a bundle.

If you follow my Facebook Page you may remember that I told you guys about a great deal Nordstrom was having earlier in the month ($50.00 off a beauty order of over $200.00 and $10 international shipping). Of course, I took advantage of the discount and picked up a few bits for an upcoming giveaway, as well as some things myself. I bought the Urban Decay Subversion Eyelash Primer and Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in Linen, two products I've been really wanting to try. I also bought three of my favourite lip balm, Dior's Creme de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm, because it's substantially cheaper in the US and I was scared that rumours of it being discontinued were real. I've since found out that they're not but oh well, now I have enough to last me a lifetime. Just so you know, the Dior Creme de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm isn't included in my Beauty Diet. I'm not including lip balms.

Mecca Cosmetica has recently started stocking Josie Maran product so I thought I'd go check it out, vowing to pick nothing up. I even up getting one thing though, the Coconut Watercolour Eyeshadow in Playa Del Pink. It's a really shimmery pink shade that's absolutely on its own and under eyeshadow and, best of all, it doesn't crease!

and now for my Make Up Geek swatches…
Shimma Shimma | Beaches & Cream | Prom Night | Hipster | Moondust
Homecoming | Latte | Unexpected | Taupe Notch | Last Dance
Peach Smoothie | Creme Brûlée | Purely Naked | Glamorous | Barcelona Beach | Pretentious
Cosmopolitan | Goddess | Cocoa Bear | Mocha | Twilight | Drama Queen
New Year's Eve | Afterglow | Sweet Dreams | Vegas Lights | Enchanted

That's it, that's everything I've picked up this month. It's a fair bit, I know, but I've had my Beauty Diet allowance burning a hole in my pocket and I decided to put it to use. If you saw my recent empties post you'll know that my allowance was bumped up to 15 but, with my recent purchases, it's back down to 8. 8, that's still not bad.

I have a few things coming from Sephora so expect to see them in next month's haul but, after that, my hauls might be a bit non existent for a bit. I'm going to be working really hard to save as much money as I can which, unfortunately, means not more beauty purchases. I've got enough to last me a few life times though, don't you think?

Let me know what you think of these products if you've tried them!

  1. I love haul posts/photos and you got some great goodies! I need to try that lipbalm.

Somehow October was a bad month for me too, I was good for ages and then just threw caution out of the window in Oct!

Just uploaded my Sephora haul for October too, and I'm already itching to place another order! I've been wanting some MUG shadows for ages and your swatches are not helping my self-restraint!

  2. I've heard sooo many great things about the Josie Maran eyeshadows. I'm tempted to get one but I really need to go through my stash and get rid of things first. While saying that I did pick up her cleansing balm... but I justified that because I use a cleansing oil/balm every night ;)

  8. Introduction - What makes a landscape beautiful? That's a really difficult question to answer because, well, there is no definitive answer. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say. In other words, we are the judges and we individually decide whether we find something beautiful or not. One person may find a particular scene beautiful, astounding and captivating, while another may find it dull, bland and boring. It's up to us to decide. Al-Hijama
