Monthly Beauty Favourites | September 2014

This month hasn't been too bad for me. I, unfortunately, got that dreaded cold that everyone seems to have caught but, after the medical issues I've had this year, i's not so bad. Perspective, right? The weather has started warming up so I'm already mourning the cool  winter weather. I seriously hate the heat, does anyone else?
This month I've been loving a few new additions to my make up collection and, as always, I've also rediscovered a few old favourites!

I did a beauty swap with a friend of mine (haul post coming soon) who now lives in Scotland and, of course, she sent me some beautiful beauty bits that aren't very accessible here in Australia. Two that I thought worth mentioning this month are two super hyped about products, Collection Concealer and Soap & Glory's One Heck of a Blot pressed powder. The Collection Concealer is, yes, as good as everyone says it is and the powder is great for setting foundation and mattifying the face throughout the day.

There is an eye look that I have been recreating a lot lately using the Rimmel London ScandalEyes Shadow Paint in Golden Bronze and Urban Decay Naked Palette which makes both products favourites of mine. The Rimmel London ScandalEyes Paint is really pigmented and extremely thin in texture, meaning it doesn't crease when applied. My current favourite shades in the Urban Decay Naked Palette are Virgin, Half Baked, Smog and Darkhorse. They create such a great eye look, especially when applied over the eye paint!

I don't normally like eyeliner, I really don't, but this month I've been reaching for it a lot. I guess I just like how it defines an eye look? I've been loving the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Smog (not featured) and, more recently I've been reaching for the Too Faced Perfect Eyes Eyeliner in Perfect Black which came in my Too Faced The Return of Sexy Palette. Another eye love for the month of September has been the Rimmel London Wonder'full Mascara*. I have a full review of this coming but just know that I really like it and stay tuned!

I know I have been singing the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade's praises but I find that it's a bit too dark to be used when my brows are a bit unruly so this month I've been reaching for my MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Dirty Blonde a lot more this month. This girl definitely needs to book an appointment at the Benefit Brow Bar!

How do you fill in your brows when they need to be groomed? I need your tips! Also, don't forget to comment below with your September beauty discoveries.

  2. Great faves! Really interested in the Collection concealer because it's so hyped about! I'm afraid I can't help you out with the brows department because I don't do my brows! Haha bad I know.

  3. I'm just getting over a cold too! I usually use a brow pencil when my brows are ready to be groomed.
