Emptying the Trash and Beauty Diet Update // September 2014

Throughout the month of September I finished up a few basics and I'm slowly working my way through the excessive amount of hair products (shampoo, conditioner and hair treatments) that I have stock piled. I kept buying favourites when they were on sale, realising that I was buying them quicker than I was going through them. Oops!

This month I have a selection of a haircare, skincare and body products with a lot of make up! If have my collection a mini clean out last weekend and am ditching a bunch of products that I no longer use or that have dried out. If you're not aware, I'm making a conscious effort to work through my half used products as a part of The Beauty Diet but I'll make more reference to that when I get to my make up bits.

Dove Pink Roll On Deodorant

This is the same deodorant that I have used for years because I really like it. It has a nice fresh scent that doesn't linger and interfere with fragrances and it gets the job done!
Would I repurchase this? I always do!

Toni & Guy Nourish Reconstruction Mask
I picked this up on the recommendation of Natalia from Glossy Confidential and, I must say, I really like it. I'm not sure if I love it but it does a great job of hydrating the hair and preventing frizziness.
Would I repurchase this? I already have!

Toni & Guy Cleanse Shampoo for Damaged Hair

When I don't feel like my hair needs the intensity of a shampoo like my Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo I really like to use this shampoo. This shampoo is gentle enough to be used on my colour damaged hair but still gets the job done!
Would I repurchase this? I already have!

Hairdresser's Formula Dry Shampoo with Rice Milk and SPF Protection
This was bought for me when I was in hospital a few months ago and unable to wash my hair. I finished this a while ago but it was really nice. It probably did a better job than the Batiste one I really like but, unfortunately, the white cast it left on my hair was a little too much.
Would I repurchase this? If I found a tinted formula I certainly would!

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads
I use these in the place of a toner everyday and I really like them. These pads are essentially soaked in gentle solution of glycolic and lactic acids, meaning it's a really great daily exfoliant. They do a great job of resurfacing the texture of the skin and brightening up the complexion. I have a full review of these here
Would I repurchase? Again, I already have!

Dirty Works You Soft Touch Hand Cream
This hand cream is quite similar to the Soap & Glory Hand Food. They have a similar texture,  scent and effect to the skin. This hand cream sat on my desk at work for quite some time and I got compliments about it from others too.
Would I repurchase it? Eventually but I have a few hand creams to get through

Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge
I'm not even going to talk about this. At this point, everyone knows I love it. In case you've been living under a rock, here's my review.
Would I repurchase it? Oh girl, you know it.

Swisse Hand Cream with Vitamin F and Pomegranate
This is my second tube of this hand cream that I've finished and I really, really love it. Again, this hand cream lived on my desk at work (can you tell I've had empty hand creams sitting there for ages as I kept forgetting to take them home) and it was the perfect midday hand saviour. This hand cream is a little heavier than others that I'm used to but, to be honest, I love that. It's not sticky and it's just so effective!
Would I repurchase it? Again, I have a few hand creams to work through but this is definitely on my list to repurchase

The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream
I picked up this bad boy solely on the recommendations of Sarah from More than Adored and, whilst I did like it, I didn't love it. I think this is a nice mattifying day cream for someone with oily skin but I prefer something that's a bit more hydrating!
Would I repurchase this? Not at the moment but I may in the future!

Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine
This is not the first Korres Lip Butter I've featured on my blog and it most certainly won't be the last. This super hydrating lip treatment is quite affordable and the perfect product to slap on at night before bed or as a saviour during the day.
Would I repurchase this? I already have!

I'm not going to talk through all of the make up products because there's quite a few. All of these are products that I'm throwing out because they've dried out (Maybelline Colour Tattoo, I'm looking at you), are old or just don't work for me. The only one that's finished in the 1 Skin Solution Vanilla Lip Balm* which I absolutely love. Some of the products I've culled were sent to me, others I've purchased myself, but they have to go!

And that's another empties post done. I'm culling 10 make up products which, given my rule of five out and one in for culled products, means I can buy another two products, bringing my total to 9. Surprisingly I didn't buy anything this month (well I did but Sephora cancelled my order - jerks) but expect a few hauls coming at'cha next month!

Let me know what you think of these products if you've tried them!

*This product was sent to me, however all opinions are my own. I was not paid for this review

  1. It's nice to see that you're actually enjoying most of the products on your list to the point where you've already re-purchased them :)
