Dirty Works Rose & Glow Moisture Mask Review

Dirty Works is a UK skin and body care brand that made its way onto Australian shores towards the end of last year. Initially there was a very limited range of products available at Coles stores, however more recently the brand has branched out into Target, bringing a majority of its line with it!
Being the beauty product stalker that I am, I simply had to check out the whole Dirty Works range soon after I heard about its availability in Target and, I must say, I'm pretty proud that I only walked away with one product. I have so many face masks targeted blemishes or designed to chemically exfoliate but nothing to add hydration back into the skin so that's exactly what I went for. I picked up the Dirty Works Rose & Glow Moisture Mask and, after having used it a few times already, I'm ready to share my thoughts.

Dirty Works' Rose & Glow Moisture Mask is a mask designed to rehydrate the skin by adding moisture for a more glowing and healthy appearance. It has a very thick moisturiser/lotion texture which has a really pleasant rose scent. Some may find it overpowering but, I'll admit, I really like it. I apply some face masks with old paddle style foundation brushes, however this is so smooth that I tend to just lightly smooth it over the skin with my fingers. The instructions on the back of the product say to leave the Dirty Works Rose & Glow Moisture Mask on for five minutes, however I've been know to leave it on for longer.

This mask is great! It's one of two hydrating face masks that I own and, whilst the other is good, I do think this one is so much more effective. It does such a fantastic job of hydrating the skin, leaving it looking plump and healthy and making it so much more comfortable. I generally do face masks in the evenings when I'm trying to pamper myself and I find that I'm still glowing in the morning (and trust me, it's never because I've had my recommended 8 hours sleep). I swear, I honestly don't think my face ever feels as content as it does after I've used this!

I have combination/oily skin so I don't ever have actual dry patches. Instead, my skin is generally a little dehydrated as a few of the skincare products I use are targeted towards more troublesome skin types. Whilst the Dirty Works Rose & Glow Moisture Mask is really fantastic for dehydrated skin, I'm not entirely sure how it would go in winter when people with dry skin become quite flaky. I'm sure it would be great then too, I just don't have that skin type so I couldn't definitively say.

I can't dissect an ingredients list, nor do I want to because I might find out there's a whole host of baddies in this product, so I don't know what's in it. I do, however, know that the Dirty Works Rose & Glow Moisture Mask claims to have Hyaluronic Acid in it, a skincare ingredient known to boost hydrating, and that's good enough for me!

The Dirty Works Rose & Glow Moisture Mask is one of three masks available from Dirty Works (there's also a brightening one and a detoxifying one) and I would highly recommend it. A little of the product goes quite a long way so it should last you a while and, at only $12.95, it's a bargain!

Now that my review is over with, let's address the elephant in the room. Yes, Dirty Works is a very similar brand to Soap & Glory with very similar products and, of course, scents which are quite similar to those that Soap & Glory are renowned for. If you're interested in some Soap & Glory-esque products, you may want to head to your local Target for a cheaper alternative!

Have you tried anything from Dirty Works? What? Do you see the similarities between Dirty Works and Soap & Glory?
What's your favourite face mask?

  3. Ooh I've never tried a hydrating mask, and I have dry-ish skin so might give this a go! My skin tends to dry out a bit too because of acne treatments.

  4. I love Dirty Works and I love that they're a cheaper alternative to Soap & Glory which can be quite pricey! I haven't tried this particular mask but I'm currently using the detox one and I love it! And I'm so so glad that you can get Dirty Works at Target now too, win!

  5. Awesome review! This sounds pretty darn good! I don't yet have any moisturising masks in my stash so I may just have to check this guy out.

    1. Thank you, Tasha. I'm so glad you liked it! I didn't have any moisturising ones either.- it seems like we all gravitate towards those that claim to clear up the skin etc. I hope you like the product if you end up picking it up! X
