Updated Nighttime Skincare Routine | August 2014

A couple of days ago I mentioned that my skin has really cleared up lately and I have to credit it all to my new skincare routine. I feel like a lot of the breakouts I had were actually my super sensitive skin's reaction to the harsh skincare products I was using to combat the blemishes so I've switched things up a fair bit and I'm really enjoying watching my skin clear up.
Two days ago I uploaded my Morning Skincare Routine and now I'm here to tell you want I do in the evenings, including what I use to remove my make up.

Like always, I remove my make up using the MAC Cleanse Off Oil. It's really effective and I like that it's so gentle. I use the same cleanser, Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser, morning and night. I feel like it's effective enough to wash off the grime of the day without being too harsh. Next up I use a First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pad, another product that I use morning and night. I always like to apply my eye cream before my serums and moisturisers to aid in absorption so I always apply the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado straight after tonight. Before I moisturise I apply the Aesop Oil Free Facial Hydrating Serum, a lightweight serum that I feel like really aids in the hydration of my skin. It's light enough to use morning and evenings but, at the moment, I'm only using it in the PM. My current moisturiser is MAC's Marine Bright Formula Moisture Creme and I'm really, really loving it. This moisturiser is hydrating and really light on the skin. It absorbs quickly and I feel like it brightens up my face. I've read that some people find that this reduces the intensity of hyper pigmentation so I'm hoping that it fades the pigmentation left behind from blemishes. Occasionally I'll throw a facial oil on over my moisturiser but I haven't included that because I switch it up between a couple. Finally, when I do have a blemish peaking through I reach for the Jurlique Blemish Cream. I've tried a few spot treatments in my day and this is one that's really impressed me lately!

And that's my nighttime skincare routine! There's still quite a few steps involved but I really like that. I love pulling out my iPad, throwing a YouTube video on and unwinding by removing all my make up and washing my face at the end of a day! This routine has been really effective so far and I'm really hoping that my skin continues to positively respond to it.

What do you think of my updated nighttime skincare routine? Have you tried any of these products before? Is there anything you'd recommend?

  1. I need to try the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, it's such a cult favourite! I haven't found an eye cream that I am totally nuts about yet, this could be the one! :P
