Make up brushes are one of my many weaknesses. I love trying brushes from new brands and have far more than I need, though I do like rotating them so I don't need to wash them as often. Lazy, huh? xoBeauty is a brand of brushes that I've been wanting to try for a while now. The brush and eyelash line was developed by Shannon Harris (Shaaanxo on YouTube) and I really like the idea of supporting a fellow beauty blogger/vlogger.
Shannon recently reached 1 million subscribers on her YouTube channel and, to celebrate, had a 10% off code for her brand. I took the opportunity to pick up a bunch of the brushes I've been lusting after, plus a few pairs of eyelashes, and today I'm going to show you what I bought. I also had a really great experience purchasing from xoBeauty which I'll talk about at the end in case you've been thinking of buying some brushes.
As you can see, I bought eleven make up brushes in total. Firstly I got the Precise Duo-Fibre Blush Brush. I've seen this brush, along with so many others, used in Shannon's videos and it always really appealed to me. It's a tapered duo-fibre brush that I think will be fantastic for both powder and cream cheek products. I'm on the hunt for the perfect brush to highlight my cheekbones with so I decided to give the Shimmer Brush a shot. It's a typical fan brush and, even though I've only used it once, I am quite happy with how it applies highlighters. I don't always like applying cream eyeshadows with my fingers so I bought the 4pc Synthetic Eye Brush Set. This set contains four brushes of different shapes (round, tapered, flat and angled). Also for the eyes I picked up two Tapered Crease Brushes and two Eyeshadow Blender Brushes. Though they're quite similar in shape, they're also quite different and I really like how precise the tapered brush can be. Finally for brushes I bought the Bronzing Brush. It's a large synthetic brush that I think will be fantastic at applying bronzer to warm up the face rather than contour.
I don't wear false eyelashes often (scratch that, ever - I don't ever wear false eyelashes) but I'd really like to give them a try. I really suck at applying them so I thought I'd give The Flirt, their wispy half lashes, a try. Surely a half lash is easier to apply than a full lash, right? I also picked up a tube of the Duo Striplash Adhesive in Clear because, well, I need something to stick them down.
That's everything that I picked up from xoBeauty and so far I am really happy with everything. I had a quick play with the brushes before I washed them (naughty, I know) and I was really impressed with the way they performed and, though I haven't tried the lashes yet, I think they're super pretty. Hopefully this lashes noob can apply them!
Shipping of these products from xoBeauty was incredibly fast. I placed the order on a Wednesday, it was shipped on the Thursday and everything arrived the following Monday. xoBeauty is a company based in New Zealand too so I can't believe how quick the products came! There is also a $6.00 flat rate shipping fee to Australia which I love.
All in all, I am really happy with everything about this order from xoBeauty and I would highly recommend them to other people. If I didn't already have 5+ flat topped kabuki brushes I'd definitely pick up a few of theirs but, really, I don't think even I can justify that purchase.
Have you ordered from xoBeauty? What was your experience like? What's your favourite brush brand?
Wow that is fast shipping! The lashes look pretty and it's good that the brushes seem to be nice quality too.

I couldn't believe how fast shipping was. I am so impressed. I'll be honest, I haven't had the balls to try the lashes yet, nor do I know what makes a good eyelash, but they seem nice! X
DeleteBoth the lashes and brushes look gorgeous! I haven't tried anything from Xobeauty, nor do I wear lashes that often either but this looks like a good place to start!
