Priceline Nail Haul | July 2014

When I was released from hospital a few weeks back I was itching to shop. I had money to burn, guys and girls! Given that I'm participating in The Beauty Diet I wasn't allowed to buy make up so, of course, I went quite nail polish crazy. Two brands, Sally Hansen and Revlon, recently released gel nail polishes that don't require a UV light and I knew I had to jump on the bandwagon.

Before you see what I picked up, I need to say two things. 1. Don't judge me. I bought quite a few nail polishes, yes, but I was on a post hospital high and, really, I just wanted them. 2. I'm really sorry about the quality of these photos. If you follow me on Facebook you'll know that my camera is in camera hospital at the moment (sad face) so I'm using my iPhone because I was busting to get back into blogging!

Firstly I picked up two Sally Hansen Miracle Gel kits, one in #210 Miss Piggy and one in #240 B Girl. These kits come with the Step 1 Gel Colour as well as the Step 2 Gel Top Coat. They will be retailing for $19.95 however I was able to pick them up on sale for $9.95 each. I assume the polishes will be available by themselves however, to be honest, I didn't look. Next I bought six (yes, six) of the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy polishes. I grabbed the #010 Diamond Top Coat because they claim that the base colour doesn't set without it - we'll see. I also bought six colours, #020 All Or Nothing, #100 Cardshark, #320 Full House, #420 Winning Streak and #440 Wild Card.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel #240 B Girl | Sally Hansen Miracle Gel #210 Miss Piggy
Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy #440 Wild Card | Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy #420 Winning Streak | Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy #320 Full House | Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy #100 Cardshark | Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy #020 All Or Nothing

So that was my nail polish stock up. Oops. I honestly didn't intend to pick up one polish, let alone thing many, but they all looked beautiful. So far I've only worn the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in #210 Miss Piggy and, seven days after application, I'm still really impressed with the wear.

Have you tried any of these polishes? What did you think of them? Let me know!

  1. Ooh the quality looks great, I've never tried gel polishes before.
Girl, those of us who own a beauty blog ourselves will NEVER judge ;)

    1. They're both really nice formulas. If you're going to try a gel polish, this is the kind I'd recommend. It lasts just as well as a Shellac style manicure on me (granted, Shellac doesn't last well on me), if not better, and it's so much easer to remove. Thanks for understanding anojt the photos and my shopping compulsions, ahaha. This is why I love blogging, hehe. X

  2. Which do you think you prefer Sophie? I am trying to choose between them - even though I definitely don't need any more nail polish! :)

    1. I'm still not sure, Kate. I like both but I've found myself reaching for the Revlon ones more, purely because I have more colours. Girl, you always need more nail polish. X

  3. The gel polishes from Sally Hansen look awesome - I didn't realise these were out yet I'll have to try and pick some up while they are still on sale!
