FOTD // My Go To Winter Look

Though I really like experimenting with lip colours all year long, winter really is the time to amp things up and get a little more daring. Given that I almost always wear neutral eye looks, I tend to opt for bolder, brighter lip colours all year round and today I thought I'd show you one way I like to wear a bold lip colour!

To prime I used Benefit's The POREfessional, an oldie but a goodie. For foundation I used L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Liquid Foundation in N2 because I wanted to try Lauren Curtis' trick of buffing it into the skin with Real Techniques' Multi-Task Brush. I'm not a fan, unfortunately, as I don't think if worked it into the skin very well as you may be able to see in the close ups of the eye look. To conceal I, of course, used MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer and then set it all with the Too Faced's Primed & Poreless Loose Powder

Too Faced's Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer was used to add a bit of colour to my face and then, in preparation for a bold lip, I added a little of Illamasqua's Powder Blush in Katie. I've been experimenting with the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown lately and, so far, I quite like it. I use it with quite a light hand as I don't like an overly drawn on brow, but it's very fast and I think the colour is really great for me!

I'm still enjoying playing around with the Urban Decay Naked2 palette so, of course, I used it again for this look. I'm wearing Foxy all over the lid (from lash line to brow bone), Tease in the crease, Chopper all over the lid, YDK (You Don't Know) and Snakebite in the outer corner and Bootycall under the brow bone. I used Maybelline's Master Precise Liquid Liner to create a really tiny line to define my lashes and the Stila Kajal Eyeliner in Topaz on my waterline to brighten up my look. I pulled out my favourite mascara, Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara, for this look because, well, I just love it.

I lined and fill my lips in with MAC's Lip Pencil in Currant (not featured in the image above because I can't find it anywhere) and then applied the Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in  #360 As You Want Victoria* all over the lips straight from the bullet.

So this is what I wore out to lunch with my sisters a few weeks ago. I really liked the look and, although a bold lipstick wasn't the best choice to wear when eating a burger, I think it was the perfect way to wear a bold lip in the daytime! This is generally how I'll wear a bold lip, though I tend to switch up the eyeshadows a bit. We all do that though, don't we?

What do you think of this look? Is it something you'd wear out? Do you the look of this lipstick as much as I do? What's your favourite way to rock a bold lip?
