Rimmel London BB Cream Matte SPF 15* Review

Whilst I've been really impressed with some of the BB Creams being released in Australian  by the Western market, I've found that a lot of them have been far too moisturising with a finish that's too dewy for my combination/oily skin. When I was offered the opportunity to try Rimmel London's BB Cream Matte*, a BB Cream specially formulated for young and oily skins, I jumped!

The Rimmel London BB Cream Matte* is a BB Cream that claims to have nine skincare benefits; 1) Minimises the appearance of pores, 2) Evens skin tone, 3) Mattifies, 4) Controls shine all day, 5) Smoothes, 6) Comforts, 7) Conceals dark circles, 8) Helps prevent blemishes and 9) Gives all day coverage! That's a whole lot of skin love from a product that also offers a sun protection factor of 15.

After using the Rimmel London BB Cream Matte* for two weeks now, it's safe to say that I am in love with it. The product comes in three shades (light, medium and medium/dark) and I wear the Light shade which seems to be a really great match for me. It has light to medium coverage that can be sheered out on good skin days and built up in places that need a little more TLC. It applies really nicely with a brush, as well as the hands, so it can definitely be slapped on in a rush!

The Rimmel London BB Cream Matte* has a really nice finish. It is matte, as the name suggests, but not overly dry or powdery. It's a natural matte finish, if that's even a 'thing'. The matte finish means that this BB Cream lasts a lot longer than any I've tried before. I've always been apprehensive about wearing a BB Cream as my only base product but this one definitely passed the all day wear test, meaning it's something I'll pull out for work days!

All in all, the Rimmel London BB Cream Matte* is a really impressive product and, whilst it may not resemble a traditional BB Cream, it's definitely a base product that I've been reaching for a lot since I received it. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has oily skin, wants a light/medium coverage for their face and/or prefers a matte finish. I don't think you'll be disappointed by this!

The Rimmel London BB Cream Matte* has been available in stores since April 2014. It retails for $12.95 and can be purchased at Priceline, Priceline Pharmacy, Target, Kmart, Big W, selected pharmacies and selected Coles and Woolworths stores.

Have you tried the Rimmel London BB Cream Matte*? What did you think? What's your favourite BB Cream? Also, what type of finish do you prefer from your base products?

  3. Isn't it amazing! I love it so much. I was so happy to find a BB cream that finally worked with my oily t-zone but that didn't make me look dry and cakey! Adore!
