Emptying the Trash and Beauty Diet Update // June 2014

With June rapidly coming to a close and my excitement for July, my birthday month, looming, it's time to crack on and show you the products that I finished up this month! If you're not aware, I'm making a conscious effort to work through my half used products as a part of The Beauty Diet but I'll make more reference to that when I get to my make up bits.
Kosmea Facial Cleansing Wipes*

I was somewhat impressed by the way these wipes removed my make up but, unfortunately, they didn't get along with my sensitive skin so I used more than half the pack to remove swatches from blog photos which, for reference, they did a great job of! I have a full review here if you're interested.

Would I repurchase? Nope. These are not for me.

Murad Clarifying Wipes for Blemish - Prone Skin
I use these in place of a toner after cleansing in the evenings and I really like them. I'm not sure how much they help my constant battle for clear but I think they're a really nice product.
Would I repurchase? I already have.

Murad Blemish Spot Treatment
This is another product that I enjoyed from Murad. I feel like it did a great job on blemishes and, besides my Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion, it's the only product I've found to effective on stopping blind pimples in their tracks.
Would I repurchase? I already have but I have a few other spot treatments I'd like to use up first.
Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm

I always like to have a tube of this hair treatment in my shower. I really love how soft it makes my hair feel. I have a full review of it here.
Would I repurchase? I already have, as you can see in this haul.

Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge
I go through this product like there's no tomorrow, finishing a bottle every month or so. It's the best product I've ever found to clean my make up brushes and sponges! You can read all my thoughts about it here.
Would I repurchase? Again, I already have!

Toni & Guy Cleanse Shampoo for Advanced Detox
I really love to use a detoxifying shampoo about once a week to really strip my oil and product build up. My favourite would be the Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo but this one from Toni & Guy is a nice second. It does a great job of cleaning my hair without stripping it.
Would I repurchase? Already have.

Coles Nail Polish Remover with Acetone
I always reach for Coles nail polish removers as they're really cheap and I find them to be quite effective. I always use a polish remover with acetone in it to remove glitter polish, otherwise I'll use my Maybelline Express Remover.
Would I repurchase? I bought a few at once so I'm still working through them.

Original Source Vanilla Milk and Raspberry Shower Gel
I quite like the Original Source Shower Gels and this one is no exception. It smelt absolutely lovely, worked up to a nice lather and, as far as I could tell, did a good job of cleaning!
Would I repurchase? Eventually but I'm working through a 750mL body wash from The Body Shop
Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair
Aveda is one of my favourite haircare brands but I forget to talk about how much I love their products here on the blog. I use this Daily Hair Repair in conjunction with another leave in product in my hair every time I wash it and I really love them.
Would I repurchase? Already have!

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Deauville
NARS Sheer Glow is one of my all time favourite foundations so it's not surprise that I finished this bad boy up. I felt like the colour was a little off towards the end, a little too light for me, but I'll get colour matched before I pick it up again.
Would I repurchase? I would love to but it will be a while because of The Beauty Diet

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
This primer is a favourite of mine. It smooths the skin, prolongs the wear of my skin and does all sorts of wonderful things that you can read all about here.
Would I repurchase? I'm still working through my last 10mL bottle and a big tube has already been added to my Beauty Diet Wishlist

Benefit The POREfessional Pro Balm
This has been one of my favourite primers for a while now (pretty much up until I discovered the Veil Mineral Primer) and it's still a product that I highly, highly rate. To read all about why I like it, click here
Would I repurchase it? I have two pro sized tubes to work through.

MAC Select Cover Up Concealer in NW20
This was the first MAC concealer that I ever picked up and, whilst I still like it, there's a few concealers that I prefer in my collection. I have more of this bad boy though, so I'll still be using it. I'm looking forward to adding this to my BACK 2 MAC pile.
Would I repurchase? I still have this in NC20 which I prefer for under the eyes

NYX Taupe Powder Blush
I quite like using this to contour but it has to go. It's been dropped and fixed with rubbing alcohol too many times. It's a mess!
Would I repurchase? I have other products I can contour with at the moment but I'd like to pick it up again at some point.
Mirenesse Tight Liner in Black
This was a fairly average felt tipped liner. I feel like the tip was a bit too thick for creating a thin and precise line.
Would I repurchase? Nope. I have a few that I prefer

Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara
This mascara creates the most beautiful and fluttery eye lashes and I just absolutely love this mascara. I have a full review of this mascara here.
Would I repurchase? I have 10+ unopened mascaras in my collection at the moment but I'll definitely look at repurchasing this in the future!

Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara
After not really liking the first sample I accidentally opened a second of the same, thinking it was a different mascara. Oops! I didn't like the brush shape of this mascara, nor was I really impressed with how it made my eyes look.
Would I repurchase? Nope. No thanks!

NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
I received this sample with my And God Created the Woman palette and it's fast become one of my favourite eyeshadow primers. I like that it's not overly tinted and it just creates the best base for my eyeshadow!
Would I repurchase? Again, I already have but I'm looking to finish up a few other primers first.

Phew. That was an empties and a halve, don't you think? I finished up ten make up products, meaning that I can buy five new products! I am not including any of the other products either because they are products that I'll be likely to have to repurchase at some point/already have.

My current total is 17 - I'm allowed to buy 17 new products! I won't be going crazy though because I need to stagger them out - who knows the next time I'll be able to finish something.

If you've made it to the end of this super long empties post, congratulations! Let me know what you think of these products if you've tried them!

*This product was sent to me, however all opinions are my own. I was not paid for this review

  1. Lots of empties there! The Murad Blemish Treatment sounds promising, I've been struggling with quite a few cystic pimples. And I NEED to try that Daiso brush cleaner but my state doesn't have it *cries*

  3. Wow you've done great using up things! Shame about the NYX blush, I hate throwing things out when they're not finished, but it's impossible to keep using them when they're that broken.
Daiso brush cleaner is a product I would definitely repurchase (or get my sister to buy for me). The Maybelline mascara sounds great too.

  4. Shame you didn't like the Lancôme mascara! It is one of my favourites out of the Hypnôse line.. I truly think it gives more volume and length than the others :)
