Monthly Beauty Favourites | April 2014

When I tried to think of what I wanted to include in my favourites post I was at a loss. There wasn't a whole lot that came to mind and I thought this month's post would be a struggle. A few days later I found myself taking a photo of a million different products. it turns out that I fell in love with a lot more than I thought. Interesting.

For face products, there's been quite a few things that I've been loving. Firstly, the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer is absolutely beautiful and completely worth the hype. It makes make up apply seamlessly and last so nicely. I've been noticing the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles feature in a lot of YouTube tutorials and things lately so I pulled it back out of my collection and I'm totally in love with it again. I didn't think I'd like MAC's Fix + but I gave it a shot when I felt a bit powdery recently and I discovered it works great to make everything  look more seamless. It's been a staple in my routine ever since!

For cheeks I'm still totally in love with Illamasqua. You know, for something different. Their Powder Blush in Tremble has become another staple, much like the other two powder blushes of theirs that I own. They have the most amazing formula. Recently I've been playing with their Gleam Highlighter in Aurora also and I think it's a beautiful product. My favourite way to apply it is with a Real Techniques Expect Face Brush as I feel like it keeps the product exactly where I want it but blends it really nicely.

My eyes have been all about the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette this month. Almost every eye look I've worn this month, if not all of them, have featured at least one colour from this palette and I honestly cannot recoGmmend it or rave about it enough. I also rediscovered my MAC Tan Pigment this month. This pigment is so versatile and would be amazing all year round. This month I opened up a new tube of Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara recently and it's definitely as good as I remembered! There's probably 'drugstore' equivalents available but if you ever want to treat yourself to a high end mascara, make this the one you pick up!

When I wanted a deep lip colour this month, Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon in Plum Russian is what I reached for every time. It's the perfect colour for the impending cooler months. If I wanted something a little more neutral on the lips, I opted for Lime Crime's Babette or MAC's Hue. Both colours are beautiful, with Babette being a bit more coral while Hue is a sheer pink.

Finally, there's two miscellaneous beauty products I've been loving this month. The first is Neo Whimsical by Essie. This beautiful nail polish is such a nice colour that brightens up my hands really nicely. I always get compliments when I wear it too, even though it's just a pastel blue based rosy pink! For my hair, the Wet Brush has been an absolute life saver. I picked it up after hearing so many people rave about it and I'm so glad that I did. It's so gentle and works so wet at getting knots out of stubborn hair.

People often ask me for swatches of my favourites so you'll be able to find some of them below.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles in Brightening | Illamasqua Powder Blush in Tremble | Illamasqua Gleam Highlighter in Aurora | Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon in Plum Russian | Lime Crime Lipstick in Babette | MAC Hue Lipstick
