Face of Australia Limited Edition Screen Sirens Swatches

When Face of Australia's newest limited edition nail polish collection, Screen Siren, hit our shelves, I'll be honest, I was pretty disinterested. I didn't think I needed more nail polish in my collection. After checking out the colours and reading all the wonderful things online (let me tell you, you people sure are persistent), I decided I needed to make the whole collection mine.

If you're interested in knowing more about the range, keep reading for swatches and descriptions of the colours!

Inspired by one of the most iconic women to ever grace our screens, Marilyn Monroe, Face of Australia's limited edition Screen Sirens collection consists of eight nail polishes. Seven of the polishes are coloured (with four being very neutral and three being super bright), whilst the eight polish is a matte top coat.

Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend | Isn't it Delicious? | Some Like It Hot | Monroe | Bombshell | Travilla | No Angel

As you can see from the swatches above, the colours are all very beautiful. For brights, Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend is a bright fuchsia pink, Isn't It Delicious? is a super vibrant turquoise and Some Like It Hot is a bright, true orange that I could easily describe as 'hot orange'. For nudes, Monroe is a medium toned pink nudes, Bombshell is a medium toned beige nude and, Travilla is a light beige toned nude and No Angel is a light pink toned nude. The nude shades are are variations of each other but they're somehow different enough to be able to justify owning all four. Well, that's what I'm telling myself. All seven of these colours have a cream finish. As a reference, each photo was taken after three coats of the polish to ensure that the photo is true to colour. For everyday use, two coats is definitely opaque enough.

Platinum over the top of Monroe, Isn't it Delicious? and Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend

Finally we have Platinum, the matte top coat. They recommend that you apply two to three coats of the polish over the top of any nail polish look to change the finish completely. Three coats of the polish was applied over two very thin coats of the coloured polish.

The Face of Australia Screen Sirens nail polish collection is available from anywhere that stocks Face of Australia (though in saying that, my local Kmart didn't have it?). I found that Priceline stores I went to were out of stock of different shades, however my local Big W had an almost full display and I was able to finish my collection with ease. Each nail polish is $4.95.

Do you love Face of Australia's limited edition nail polish collections as much as I do? Are you a sucker for them? What's your favourite shade?

  1. I'm not a huge fan of the nudes, but love the colourful polishes.

    1. The polishes are really pretty, aren't they? Thanks for your comments on my photos too. I love the lighting outside. It cooperates a lot more than any of my artificial lighting! X

  3. I thought this was a bit of an odd collection to be honest.. what do the bright colours have to do with "screen siren" they should have included some bombshell reds and perfect gold glitters, but whatever! Still love all the colours, as you know haha xx

    1. Hey, lovely! I have to say! I totally agree. I mean, I like all of the colours but I don't mecessarily think they 'gel', if that makes sense. Reds, vampy burgundy shades and, of course, a bit of glitter would suit the inspiration a lot more. Either way, as you say, all of the colours are beautiful so it's hard to complain. x

  4. I agree with Jasmine, it's a weird selection of colours. For some reason the bright colours don't really draw my attention, and although the nudes are quite pretty, I'm in no rush to go and get them. I wouldn't mind picking up Travilla and No Angel though.

    1. Yep, it's definitely an odd array of shades. I love all the colours, brights and nudes, but they don't necessarily tie in together. No Angel is super pretty. :) X

  5. I really like the look of Isn't it delicious and No Angel! How sheer are the nudes? I'm struggling to find a good nude that doesn't take dozens of layers to get opaque.

    1. Girl, you've chosen two of my favourite shades. Great minds, eh? The nudes are pretty damn good. The swatches are three coats, however I honestly think you'd be able to get away with two. X
