Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge Review

Cleaning my make up brushes used to be one of my most hated chores. Recently, however, it's become one of my favourite things to do over the weekend and I think that's down to my holy grail brush cleanser, Daiso's Detergent for Puff and Sponge. The Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge is one of those products that everyone speaks really highly of but, unfortunately, it's also one that's not currently available in Western Australia. When my amazing friend Jasmine (you may know her as Sweetaholic Beauty) kindly sent me a bottle of this I instantly fell in love and now she's my dealer, picking it up and posting it across Australia every few months for me
Before using this, I was cleaning my brushes two or three times on any given day using baby shampoo and finding that they were still stained with product, especially my foundation brushes and Beauty Blenders. In contrast, all stains were gone after my first use of the Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge and I haven't had one since!

If I'm cleaning a decent amount of brushes at once I'll squeeze some of the Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge onto the side of my bathroom sink near the taps. I'll then pat the brush into the detergent and work it into as much of a lather as I can before adding a tiny bit of water. I find that gently working it into the bristles without water draws out a lot of product caught in the brush. After I'm satisfied, I'll get a tiny bit of water and lather it more. Finally, I'll just rinse the brush, being sure to get as little water as possible on the ferrel. We don't want any of the glue loosening, right? Right!

The Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge is the best product I've ever found to clean my make up brushes and sponges. It actually makes the process fun! I have used it on every brush in my make up collection, as well as my Beauty Blenders, and I've found that it's worked miracles on them all. Many of the cleansers I was using before this made the pink run from my Beauty Blenders, however nothing but make up runs from them when I clean them with the Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge.

Daiso's Detergent for Puff and Sponge has 80mL of product in a bottle and, like everything in a Daiso store, retails for $2.80. Yes, this amazing product is under $3.00. I highly recommend that everyone checks this bad boy out and if, like me, you don't have a Daiso in your state or territory, see if you can recruit a friend to do some shopping for you!

  1. I love this, it's absolutely amazing for under 3 bucks! It sucks that you can't get a hold of it easily though. Hopefully Daiso comes to WA soon!

  2. I love this stuff! I use it to wash my brushes, and beauty blender, and I stock up when I'm in Singapore, because it's about 1/2 the price.
