Blogger Love Tag

March 08, 2014 | , , , , , ,
Yesterday I was tagged by Sarah from More than Adored to do to the Blogger Love Tag. I really love tags as I feel they're a great way for readers to get to know bloggers a little better, however finding ones that aren't repetitive and/or redundant can be quite difficult. I love the idea behind the Blogger Love Tag as I feel it'll be an opportunity to share some of my favourite bloggers and blog reads so let's get into it!

What was the first blog you ever came across?
Oh my gosh, I don't even remember. I honestly don't think I'd even be able to guess. Much like Sarah, I was totally absorbed in the YouTube world first. I suspect that one of the first that I subscribed to and read on a semi regular basis was Essie Button or Fleur De Force and that was because of their YouTubes. Temptalia also, probably, because who hasn't come across her?

Favourite beauty blog reads
There are so many beauty blogs that I absolutely love, however my brain is at a total stand still now that I have to try and list them. That's always the way, isn't it? I really love -

Best blogging friend
I often say this but I am so grateful for all the beautiful ladies that I've gotten to know through blogging. Surprisingly enough, I'm yet to meet pretty much all of them but that doesn't stop me loving their guts. Some of these lovely ladies include Sarah from More Than Adored (of course), Jasmine from Sweetaholic Beauty and Natalia from Glossy Confidential. I've also started getting to know Mishelle from Mishelle's Sleep Time and, given that she's another West Australian, I can wait for us to get together and do some shopping damage!

Name a blog that enables your purchases
Again, there's so many. The English crew (Fleur De ForceEssie Button, Lily PebblesVivianna Does Make UpCaroline Hirons etc) all feature so many products that I'd love to try. On a more local note, Natalia from Glossy Confidential has the most amazing hauls and always features so many products I want to try. Kat from Kitsch Snitch always seems to mention products that I end up loving so I'll often head out and pick something up on her recommendation. Jenny from Shopping Queen Jen also enabled so many of my purchases last year. She was always hauling from the US and has the most amazing taste. Unfortunately she hasn't blogged since December, however it's definitely worth checking out her older stuff.

5 blogs everyone should be reading!
1. Caroline Hirons - teaches so much about skincare
2. Temptalia - Not sure if you can count it as a blog anymore but it has so much information and, best of all, swatches of pretty much anything!
3. Sweetaholic Beauty - I love Jasmine and her blog and I check it almost daily to see what's new in her world
4. More Than Adored - Sarah features so many different products that I've not heard of
5. Essie Button - Estee is fun, honest and features a great mix of products and brands

Your favourite way to read blogs
For some reason, I don't tend to use BlogLovin'. I know I should because not everyone has GFC but I much prefer going through the Blogger Dashboard. I travel for over an hour on public transport to and from work so I tend to use the time to read my favourite blogs/new posts on my iPad Mini. It's the perfect way to utilise the time.

Bloggers that inspire you
Oh, I don't know. Different bloggers do for different reasons. I think there are so many blogs that do so many beautiful things and I don't think I could choose jsut one or two. I love the way bloggers like Lily Pebbles and the like upload daily and, if you haven't noticed, I've been making a conscious effort to upload daily too. Apart from that, I couldn't pin point one specific blog.

Favourite blog design/look
I really love streamlined, uncluttered blog designs. When Sarah from More than Adored gave her blog a makeover it totally inspired me to do the same as it was something I had been thinking about for oh-so-long. I loved her design so much that I had the same person who designed hers, Grace from Grace of Beauty, do mine and I'm so glad I did. I love it! I really like the monochromatic look of Lily Pebble's and Essie Button's, however I love colour, in particular pink, too much to go in that direction.

What is your favourite thing about blogging?
I really love being able to have an outlet to share my passion with other people. My love for all things beauty related isn't something I share with a lot of people in my personal life so it's great to be a part of a community that, not only understands it, but embraces it! As I mentioned above, I love the amazing people I've gotten to know as a result.

Name a blogger you would most like to see write a book in the future!
I would love to see Caroline Hirons write a book on skincare and the best way to treat different skin conditions. She has so much knowledge and has been in the industry so long that I think it would be an invaluable resource.

Thank you so much, Sarah, for tagging me in this great tag. I've had a lot of fun writing it and I really hope that people are able to discover new and exciting blogs as a result.

I tag
Jasmine from Sweetaholic Beauty
Natalia from Glossy Confidential
Beth from Crazy Cat Beauty
Mishelle from Mishelle's Sleep Time
Kat from Kitsch Snitch
Abigail from The Shrinking Wallet
