Australis CC Colour Correcting Cream* Review

The Australis CC Colour Correcting Cream* has been sitting in my bases drawer for such a long time and, for some reason, I've never really pulled it out. I think I always just assumed the colouring was all wrong for me. Recently, however, I was looking for a change, dug this bad boy out and, to my surprise, the colour is pretty damn good. Needless to say, I've been experimenting with it ever since.

Australis' CC Colour Correcting Cream* is yet another product that's joined the BB/CC cream craze. It is marketed as a light foundation that is "packed full of goodness and addressees skin related issues such as sallowness and redness". I've heard that, like most BB and CC creams, this can be used in place of a foundation or underneath it, however I've only ever used it as a standalone base product. It is slightly thick in formula, though it buffs out nicely and doesn't look cakey in the slightest.
As you can see photos above, the Australis' CC Colour Correcting Cream* has fairly decent coverage. It has evened out almost all of my redness, leaving only blemishes to be spot covered with concealer. I'll tend to use this product on my lazy/weekend days in place of my foundation, skipping concealer altogether.

Being someone with combination/oily skin, I really liked the way Australis' CC Colour Correcting Cream* blended into the skin and wore throughout the day. I don't identify as having dry skin and I didn't notice that it settled into any dry patches, nor was it broken down by excess oil on the face. This product wears extremely nicely and, whilst it's not the most long wearing base product in my collection, it fades evenly and the wearing time is dramatically increased when teamed with a setting powder.

I use the Australis CC Colour Correcting Cream* in Nude and I've found it to be a good colour match for me. As I mentioned at the start, I was concerned that it may not be my perfect match for me and, whilst it's not (it's a little too pink), it buffs into the skin really nicely and, given that it's a light coverage product, no one would be able to tell.

The Australis CC Colour Correcting Cream* contains Shea Butter and Hylaruonic Acid to assist in hydrating the skin. It worked on my somewhat oily skin and, given the moisturising properties included, I would think that it might be okay for normal to dry skin types as well. You may want to look for something a little more hydrating if your skin is very dry.

I've been really impressed with Australis' CC Colour Correcting Cream*. The Nude shade is quite nice but, unfortunately, it only comes in three shades so it's quite possible that you won't find one to suit you. You can pick this up for $12.95 from Priceline, Kmart and Big W stores, as well as selected pharmacies.
Have you tried the Australis CC Colour Correcting Cream? What did you think of it? What's your favourite base?

  5. I'm so madly in love with this but sadly it's been discontinued I have combo oily skin and this doesn't budge and stays matte the whole time and hasn't broken me out. It's very thick and tacky but works well with a sponge.

I have one backup of it, but is there any other cc creams that are just like this Australis one? Would really love to try and see if I can find a replacement when i run out.
