Lust Have It! Beauty Box | January 2014

On Wednesday, five ddays into February, my January Lust Have It! beauty box arrived. I was tossing up whether to write this or not, especially given I haven't blogged about my last two monthly boxes, but I decided I would.

To see what I got in last month's Lust Have It! box, keep reading.

Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear SPF30+
"The 3-in-1 sunscreen, moisturiser and sheer foundation provides a light, non-greasy, sheer tint and can be used daily to nourish, protect and help prevent the appearance of premature ageing caused by UV protection. Invisible Zinc has been formulated to keep your skin healthy for many years to come."
The information card for this product says that it's available in two shades, light and medium, of course me, Miss Ice Queen, got medium. D'oh! I like the concept of this product, though I hate tinted moisturisers, but I probably won't even take it out of the packet because I just know it'll be too hard.

Paul's Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel
"Its sheer, weightless texture works to exfoliate the skin's surface and fade signs of sun damage. The ultra-light formula corrects uneven skin tone for a brighter, smoother and more radiant complexion. It works to sustain the result of professional peels and wears beautifully under a moisturiser or serum. Great for all skin types. This product contains 8% glycolic acid which may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and possibility of sunburn"
This is easily one of the most exciting product in this box. I've been really getting 'into' skincare lately (stay tuned for a huge haul) and have really taken an interest in chemical exfoliants. This one has been on my list for a while now so I'm so excited to be able to give it a shot!

Simple Skincare Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes
"Quick and effective at removing make-up, including waterproof mascara, while being kind to skin, these nourishing wipes are suitable for all skin types. Containing Pro-Viatmin B5 to refresh and tone the skin these non-alcoholic and 100% oil free wipes won't dry the skin or leave a greasy residue."
I've made no secret of the fact that I'm not a huge fan of face wipes. I don't mind them for removing excess make-up but I'm not a fan of using it in place of a proper skincare routine. I'll probably keep these for if I go away (let's face it but, when do I go away?) or I'll pass them onto a friend.

Seacret Body Lotion in Ocean Mist
"This fast absorbing body lotion replenishes your skin's health and hydration to its optimum level through a unique combination of Dead Sea Minerals and natural ingredients. Your skin will feel silky soft and radiant all day long!"
Another body lotion/moisturiser? I really hate receiving body products like this. I don't tend to reach for them much so they just accumulate in my collection and take up space. I know so many people love body products and I'm just being picky but hey, a girl's gotta be honest.

Knotties by Condition Culture
"Knotties hair ties and headbands are the newest innovation in hair accessories. This cutting edge design uses soft yet strong elastic that does not snag or crease your hair. They look great in the hair or can be worn around your wrist as arm jewellery"
If you've been following my blog for a while you'll know that these are some of my hair elastics. They're just perfect for someone like myself who has really damaged hair.

Aveda Dry Remedy Daily Moisturising Oil
"Formulas without Silicones, it penetrates hair to instantly increase hair's moisture by 41% without leaving behind any greasy residue so it doesn't weigh hair down"
Aveda is one of my favourite haircare brands so I'm really excited to see this, even though it was also in my Chloe Morello Lust Have It! beauty box. I am really excited to try this hair oil and, at $25 for a 40mL bottle, it's not going to break the band if I fall in love with it!

Whilst I am quite happy with half the contents in my box (I could've lived without the Zinc, wipes and body lotion), I am still pretty disappointed in the box and a lot of that comes down to customer service. I touched on my disappointment with Lust Have It!'s customer service in my  Chloe Morello Lust Have It! beauty box post but they outdid themselves with month, I believe. On February 7, 2014, (NOTE: Two days after I received my box) all subscribers received and email from the CEO of the company. Basically she apologised for the delay in boxes and blamed third party providers somewhat. I feel like this email would've been far more appreciated if it was sent halfway through the month when it was surely clear that the boxes wouldn't be out on time.

Are you subscribed to Lust Have It!? How late was your January box?

  2. I am really upset with Lust Have It at the moment! Not only did mine arrive today, on the 10th of February, but it arrived without it's usual Lust Have It box. One of the products (the only full sized product which was cleanser for normal to dry skin - which I am not) came damaged at the lid, so I actually can't use it - not that I would. I also received the Invisible Zinc in medium, far too dark for me, and I also got the Simple wipes. I was really unhappy! >:(

  3. I was given a 6 month subscription to LHI by a friend and was really excited but had to contact LHI several times to get the subscription activated. once thatw as done i thought it would be all plain sailing but sadly no. I received the December box 2 weeks in January but was told that was because of the Christmas/New years holidays...a little because in case anyone has missed it ...these holidays occur on the same date every year...they are not a surprise. But ok....not to worry.....so yesterday.. ...February 10th my January box arrived...LOL Im not expecting my February box until some time in March and so on.
