On Friday I came home from work to find that my limited edition Chloe Morello Lust Have It! Beauty Box was finally at my door. I bought this box on a whim when I saw Chloe Morello, an Australian beauty vlogger, upload a video about it. When I saw her video I was umming and ahhing about the box until I saw that it was featuring a Make Up Store product. That was the selling point for me.
To see what was in the box, as well as my thoughts on it, keep reading.
Formulated without silicones, Dry Remedy Daily Moisturising Oil's buriti oil penetrates hair to instantly increase hair's moisture by 41% without leaving behind any greasy residue so it doesn't weigh hair down.
Aveda is one of my favourite hair case brands so I was quite happy to get this sample. I think it could be bigger but because how far is a 3mL sample of a hair oil going to go?
A full sized (40mL) sample of this product retails for $40.00 and this sample is worth $1.80
Avene Thermal Spring Water
Ideal for an instant facial refresher, Avene Thermal Spring Water's unique properties in the water assists in its ability to cleanse, soothe and calm mild to highly sensitive skin. With both health and beauty benefits, this product can be used to tone the face as well as offer relief to inflamed skin.
I have owned this product in the past and I've honestly never used it. I'm not sure why. I don't think I like the ideal of spraying water from an aerosol can to my face but, hey, I really should give it a shot.
This 50mL bottle of product retails for $9.99
Evo Haze Styling Powder
This styling powder adds volume and texture when hair is suffering from the flop. Recommended for fine and limp hair, it gives body and texture with a matte finish.
Whilst my hair never has 'the flop' (in fact, it's always the exact opposite), I have really really great things about styling powders and I'm really looking forward to giving this one a shot!
This 50g bottle of product retails for $29.95 so my 10g sample was worth $5.99
The Make Up Store Lip Gloss Wand in Daisy
Leading make up brand in Sweden, Make Up Store in one of the high streets of Stockholm with a unique concept that had not been seen on the market before. Beautifully packaged, Make Up Store products offer 'a World of colours', quality and reliability.
I received this lip gloss in a really cool pink, almost lavender purple, shade. I was a little disappointed about the fact that I'm not having the opportunity to try one of the oh-so-loved micro shadows.
This lip gloss retails for $30.00
Maybelline New York Volum' Express The Colossal Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara
With its lush Collagen formula and claw brush, this waterproof mascara fills out lashes up to 8 x the volume with fabulous cat like corners instantly. Go fully feline in one stroke!
I bought one of these mascaras for myself when they were first released and I still haven't had the chance to open it. Drats! I've heard great things about this mascara and I'm quite fond of one of theirs (Mega Plush, I'm looking at you) so I'm happy to give this a go.
This retails for $19.95
Maybelline New York Dream Fresh BB Cream
This instant skin perfecter combines the technology of make up and skincare to perfect skin in 1-step. Thanks to its unique gelled-water formula, BB contains no heavy ingredients and is oil-free. It glides on easily and blends into the skin perfectly.
If you read my drugstore Foundation Files you'll know that I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of this BB cream, and that's in the formulation for oily skin. I don't think I'll get along with this original formula which is probably a good thing because I'm sure this Medium shade will be far too dark for my super pale complexion.
This retails for $15.95
L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Colour
Combining the texture & shine of a gloss with the long wear of a stain, it delivers a lasting colour with a subtle glossy shine. The unique formula comprised of 30% water and 60% oil provides an exceptionally high level of moisture, allowing for 6 hour hydration.
I'm quite excited to have this and I received it in the colour Juliet. I have owned one of these lip stains in the past but it was a fairly neutral colour so I'm looking forward to seeing how a more vibrant colour goes.
This product retails for $23.95
Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat
Infused in a weightless fluid, Touche Eclat targets shadowy areas and highlights the contours of the face. WIth a buildable coverage and free of opaque fillers, the perfecting texture evens the complexion and conceals imperfections, enhancing the skin's natural beauty.
The box contained a sample pot that you could take to an Yves Saint Laurent counter to be colour matched and given a sample. I'm not actually counting this as a product in the box as anyone can walk up to a counter and have this service. In saying that, it's a really great foundation and I have a review of it here.
So that's the whole contents of my Limited Edition Chloe Morello Lust Have It! Beauty Box. I paid $50.00 for the box and, according to my calculations, the box is worth $107.62 so you definitely get your moneys worth. I'm a little disappointed with some of the products which, to be honest, is completely my fault. I pretty much knew the exact contents of the box when I bought it. I'm most disappointed in the fact that I received a lip gloss as my Make Up Store product. Not only was I really hoping to try one of their eye shadows, there was already one lip gloss in the box so I feel like they could've skipped the Make Up Store lip glosses all together. What do you think? Am I being picky?
My other gripe with this box is shipping. I paid for the box on December 19, 2013, and was only made aware that it had been shipped January 29, 2014. I totally understood that it wasn't going to be shipped straight away A. Because it was heading into the Christmas period and B. It wasn't a monthly subscription box so they were probably waiting for a bunch of people to order it. I tweeted Lust Have It! a few times and didn't hear back though which I think is quite disappointing. It's not hard to tell people when their goods are going to be shipped, don't you think?

Boooooo I hate lip gloss anyway, but 2 in the same box???
ReplyDeleteI do however, LOVE The Makeup Store, when they shut the Melb city counter I was lucky enough to score a bunch of super cheap ES, they only had the BRIGHT colours left, but because I'm me, it's what I would have chosen anyway! :)
Hey, Lizzi! I don't have lip gloss but I feel like two in the same box is a bit much.
DeleteJealous that you managed to pick up the shadows at such at discount, even if they were bright colours. X
I have seen half these products crop up in many other beauty boxes as well. For a once-off $50 box like this, it would've been nice to have some different items so I doubt I would pay that much for this.
ReplyDeleteYeah! It seems that beauty boxes 'recycle' the same products somewhat. Who knows but? Maybe they all ARE Chloe's favourites. I think I was a bit silly buying the box, yup! X
DeleteSuch a pity on the Make Up Store colour! I agree with you on the colour, it is gorgeous, but its not something I'd wear that often either.
ReplyDeleteReally want to try some products from make up store! xx
