Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm Review

Every now and then you try a product on a whim and find that it surpasses your expectations and really, really impresses you. I've had a sample of the Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm in my drawer for the longest time now and, in an attempt to declutter my beauty life, I gave it a shot. After one use of the product I was completely hooked and now it's one of the most reached for products in my shower, having just started my third tube. Truly, it's love.

The Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm is an extremely hydrating treatment for dry, damaged hair and is so effective. I have curly, dry and colour treated hair and I honestly find that this is one of the best hair treatments I've ever tried. It smooths out my hair, making it easy to brush, and leaves my hair feeling beautiful, soft and easy to work with. All winners in my books!

After shampooing my hair (generally with Aveda's Damage Remedy Shampoo or Bumble and Bumble's Sunday Shampoo), I apply a generous amount of the Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm to my hair, working it through the ends and massaging the excess up into my roots. I then put my hair in a top knot and continue with my shower so that it has time to really work its magic.

I love washing a hair product out when you can really tell it's done something (I like instant gratification, okay?) and the Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm certainly delivers in that aspect. As soon as it's rinsing out your hair feels smoother and more manageable. Being someone with such difficult to manage hair, it's a real bitch to brush out when it's been washed but, as I said above, the Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm makes it so easy to do.

There's really nothing I dislike about this product. I think it makes the roots of my hair a little oily but, to be honest, that's kind of my fault because I massage it all the way through the lengths of my hair instead of leaving it to the bottom three quarters or something. I just don't want anywhere to miss out!

You can pick the Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm up from a bunch of different places, including a lot of hair salons, but Priceline has recently started stocking Joico which I love. I always buy it from there now because I get the points! It retails for $26.95 at Priceline but it's often on sale. In fact, right now it's on sale for $21.55.

Have you tried anything from Joico, including this treatment? What do you love? What's your favourite SOS haircare product?
