When two Chapstick MixStixs* arrived at my door I had no idea what to think of them; It was either genius or madness and I was going to find out. The Chapstick MixStix* is a double ended lip balm that comes in two flavour combinations, Strawberry Banana Smoothie and Lemon Berry Sorbet. The premise behind the product is simple, mix and match the flavours to create your ideal flavour combination.
The lip balms themselves are much like other Chapsticks I've tried previously, moisturising and nourishing but not the best on the market. They provide me with a good amount of moisture and, although this isn't necessarily the type of lip product I'd use before bed, it's definitely the type of lip balm that I'd carry around in my purse for day to day touch ups. I also find they're perfect for sitting on top of my dresser for pre makeup moisturisation.
As far as the scents go, I'm far more partial to the berry ends of both lip balms, even though I think both ends are quite pleasant on each. Whilst all the flavours smell quite artificial, I've always found berry scented lip products far more appealing than anything else, especially banana scents. For that reason, my favourite combination is Lemon Berry Sorbet.
The novelty behind the Chapstick MixStix* is pretty great. It provides some versatility to lip balms and is perfect for someone who's completely indecisive, much like myself. I really like the concept behind them, though I would love if the berry end of each was tinted, giving you more versatility in the one product.
Chapstick MixStix* are available Australia wide. At 4.4g each, they have .2 more grams of product than a normal Chapstick and can be bought in a twin pack from Chemist Warehouse for $4.99 (see here).
I was sent five of the Lemon Berry Sorbet flavour and, though I really like, I don't need that many. With that in mind, I'm giving away the other four!
