Best of Brushes | Cheek Brushes

A week and a half ago I uploaded my first post in my Best of Brushes series (read all about my favourite base brushes here) and today I'm here to tell you about Part 2 in the series, my favourite cheek brushes.

Before I get into my favourite cheek brushes (we're talking contour, blush and bronzer), I just want to make a few things clear. Some of the brushes in my collection are expensive, some are ridiculously cheap. I don't believe in judging the effectiveness of a brush by the price which is why you'll find such a diverse range in my collection. Please also also note that what works well for me might not work well for you.  Unfortunately brushes aren't a one-size-fits-all type of affair.

With all that said, let's get into it!
A defined contour isn't something I really aim for anymore, preferring a bronzed, warmed face. When I do want to give myself a little extra shape and definition I always reach for the Abbamart Small Duo Fibre Stippling Brush. I find that it's the perfect shape to get into the hollows of my cheekbones and blend contouring products to prevent harsh lines. Whilst I don't often reach for a highlighter, I've also found that this brush works well with powder highlights. You can get this brush here for $6.20.

I've tried so many brushes to apply blush. I've tried big brushes, little brushes, dense brushes and sparse ones. My favourite blush brush by far is the Abbamart Apple Blush Cheek Brush. The name is a mouthful but the actual brush is amazing. It's the perfect size to apply blush to any part of the cheek and I can't imagine applying blush with anything else these days. I have three of these brushes in my collection and I'd happily grab a couple more. You can buy this brush for $6.80 here.

Until this brush was added to my collection I wasn't much for duo fibre brushes but my favourite brush to apply bronzer to my face is the Furless Perfectly Pink Stippling Brush PPF3. I feel like this brush is so versatile and I'm able to warm up my whole face with it. When I want to define my cheekbones slightly I turn the brush on its side, turning it back when I want to warm the perimeters of my face. You can buy this brush for $10.00 from Furless Cosmetics here

Whilst I love cream blushes, I absolutely hate applying them with my fingers. I find that it's so messy and it doesn't give a good application of product. I've used so many brushes to apply cream blush in the past but my favourite is the Furless Purple Powder Makeup Brush PF1*. The synthetic fibres pick up the perfect amount of product and the size of the brush means that I literally need to tap it onto my cheek once or twice to have perfect application to my whole cheek area. It sounds bad, I know, but I find that I reach for my cream blushes so much more now that this brush is in my life. You can buy this brush from Furless Cosmetics for $10.00 here
