The Make Up Buying Ban

December 03, 2013 | , , , , , ,
There comes a time in every beauty obsessors life when she takes a step back, looks at her make up collection and just whispers 'holy shit...'. That day has come for me. I have more make up than I know what to do with and I couldn't bare to part with any of it (and before you wonder, it's not funky - don't worry). With all this in mind, I've decided it's time for another spending ban.

This time I'm banning myself from buying make up only, thank goodness. It will be a bit like a Project Pan challenge only I don't have to use up a certain amount of products to finish. For now the ban will only go for the month of December (gotta be able to shop in the Boxing Day sales), though I may increase it, especially if I'm noticing my savings account increase.

With Christmas coming up, I figure this is the perfect time to do it because I've just started my Christmas shopping so I could definitely use the extra cash. Huzzah!

Have you participated in a beauty buying ban? Do you think I can do it?!

  1. A makeup buying ban?? That is a great idea. I also have so much makeup that I don't know what to do with it. I should also put myself on a shoe buying ban at least for the month of December. I just bought my first Christmas gift (a new college bedding set for my daughter) so you are right, now would be the perfect time to stop. Thanks for sharing.

    1. A great idea? I still think it's an awful one (hahaha) but it's necessary. I don't know the last time I went a month without buying any make up and I honestly have no more room. Christmas is a great time to do it 'cos you're still buying, just not for yourself. X

  2. I've never done a beauty ban - never really thought I needed too, but sadly I do. How do we accumulate sooooo much stuff!! :)

    1. If your collection is anything like mine, a cull and ban is totally necessary. I blame my blog for my excessive collection. "I NEEDED it for a review" works every time. Well, I like to think it does... X

    1. Oh, how exciting. I doubt I'll get any for Christmas. There's honestly nothing I want. Oh, except for the Urban Decay Naked3. Swooooooon. X

    1. That works too! I just think about all the money I could be saving and then it gets so depressing my ban myself for a bit. X
