Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation Review*

November 21, 2013 | , , , , , , , , ,
In the past I've made no secret of my dislike of products in the Rimmel Stay Matte range. The powder is good, yes, but there are so many powders that keep my combination/oily skin a lot more matte. The liquid foundation? Well that's just a nightmare. When the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation* was released recently I was given the opportunity to try it and I jumped! I had to see how it compared.
I've been pleasantly surprised by the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation*. To find out why, keep reading!

The consistency of this foundation is quite lovely. It's a mousse, as the name suggests, so I find it to be quite lightweight and easy to work with. I know some people aren't a fan of mousse foundation but, in terms of ease of use, I find them to be quite nice. A little of the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation* goes a lot way. It's hard to measure how much of the product I use on my face as it's a squeeze tube as opposed to a pump, but I definitely don't need a lot.

The Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation* has really nice coverage, once again something I find to be quiet common with mousse foundations. I find it to be quite medium coverage but it is blendable and layers quite well, bearing in mind that it dries to a matte finish so too much can look a little cakey.

In terms of keeping my face matte throughout the day, this product fares better than any other product from the Rimmel London Stay Matte range. The Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation* does a good job of controlling oil. Though I do get shiny throughout the day, it's only after the 6+ hour mark and it's nowhere near as noticeable as it can be with some products that don't control oil.

All in all, I think the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation* is quite nice. I think there are some foundations that do a better job of controlling oil, yes, but only slightly and super affordable price point bumps up the points for this bad boy. I also think it'll be a great product for people with normal to oily skin or those with oily skin to like a matte finish.

The Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation* is available from October 2013 from Priceline, Priceline Pharmacy, Target, Kmart, Big W, selected pharmacies and selected Coles and Woolworths stores. You can pick this foundation up for $14.95. This foundation comes in 8 shades and I wear the second lightest, #100 Ivory.

Have you tried this yet? What's your favourite foundation finish?

  1. I'm still testing this out but so far I'm really liking it! I don't find it completely matte on my skin which I quite like but I'm still trying it with different bases and powders to see how the wear differs. I think for $14.95 I'd buy it again though!

  3. I bought this and the Perfect Match foundation last month and loving both of them. I really like the texture of this Stay Matte compared to the other one (which is sitting in my drawer unloved).

  4. I bought this a couple of days ago in the Priceline cosmetic sale, have to say I'm impressed. This seems to keep my skin under control for pretty much the whole day along with the Stay Matte powder. Love the bargain price too.

  5. I'll have to pick this up when I'm out next. I have oily skin and it is hard to find the right foundation for it.

  6. I recently reviewed this as well and I love it!! I have been wearing it everyday for the past couple of weeks. I find it has a very natural light finish.

  7. Yes, the price is very good. But I personally would prefer to pay more and get a better product for my oily skin..
