October Favourites, 2013

This month has been a really exciting month for me. Why? I became an Aunty for the second time. My new nephew, James, is about 3.5 weeks old and absolutely beautiful. My life and house is pretty hectic at the moment (read about it here) so I haven't really been trying anything new out lately. There are a few products that I've been finding myself reaching for daily though so it's time to share them with y'all.

I've had the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo in my skincare collection for a while and find that it goes in and out of my routine. It's not a product I feel that I desperately need, though I do see a difference when I use it so that should be reason enough to continue with it. I recently pulled out the Indeed Labratories Hydraluron again, after using it once and breaking out hardcore. I decided the break out was due to something else because I've been using this for at least two weeks straight and there's not been any dramatic break out. This does such a good job at hydrating and has been the only moisturising product I've been using in the evenings.

For make up I'm still totally in love with the Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat and I have no idea why I haven't done a full review on it yet. It's a light coverage foundation which is totally out of my comfort zone but I find that when used with a concealer like the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (another favourite) I get a nice and natural look. I've been using the Essence Me & My Ice Cream Cream Blush in #01 Ice Bomb so much lately. It's a lovely peach colour that adds the most amazing flush of colour to the cheeks. The effect is almost a muted version of Illamasqua's SOPHIE blush (swatches here). Lastly, I've been reaching for Stila's Kitten eyeshadow (swatches) quite a bit lately. It's a lovely shimmery shade that makes a perfect inner corner highlight or all over lid colour, depending on what kind of look you're going for.

Those are all my beauty favourites for the month of October. I can't believe this is the last day of the month. Holy cow!
What were your beauty favourites?

I'm also loving my upcoming Christmas series, Holiday Gift Guides. Each week for four weeks I'll be uploading a Holiday Gift Guide and one month before Christmas I'll be launching my Christmas Giveaway. This year I'm giving a few of the items featured in the series and I can't wait. To see my Holiday Gift Guide for Men, click here.

Always look your best,
Sophie
