Dior Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream for Nails Review

When I bought the Dior Crème De Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm I decided to also pick up the Dior Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream for Nails even though I had heard nothing about it. I am so glad I gave in to my impulses because I'm so impressed by it.

The Dior Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream for Nails is a thick and creamy salve that, according to the Sephora website, encourages nail growth, improves nail strength and conditions the cuticles. It is housed in the same pot as the Crème De Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm and feels so sturdy and luxe.

To see why I love the Dior Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream for Nails, keep reading!

Firstly, I should preface this by telling you that I didn't really use a nail treatment before this. Sure, I own a cuticle oil but it was lucky to be used once a month. Oops.

To apply the Dior Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream for Nails I swirl a finger over the product a couple of times, warming and collecting some of it at the same time. I generally find the amount that's been picked up by one finger is enough to do one hand; I just dot a little onto each finger. Once it's been dotted onto the finger I rub it in, being sure to spend at least 10 seconds on each finger so it can be well absorbed.

When this is first applied, I'm not going to lie, it's super sticky. As it's massaged in, though, it starts to feel like a cuticle oil and, as I said, in about 30 seconds it's completely absorbed. The Sephora website says this can be used pre or post nail polish application but I wouldn't recommend using it before applying nail polish unless you're going to wash it off before application which, in my opinion, is counter productive.

I have noticed a dramatic improvement in the quality of my cuticles since I've been using the Dior Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream for Nails. As I said, I didn't use a cuticle oil regularly so I can't really make a comparison but I can say that I noticed a difference after one use of this, something I never did with a cuticle oil. I feel like I'm getting a lot less hangnails now and my cuticles look far less dry. I'm not sure if it's improved the quality of my nails though because the super filed nail from when I had acrylics at my 21st is growing out so they're constantly snapping.

If you're looking for a super luxurious cuticle treatmentor a beautiful gift for a friend, don't go past the Dior Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream for Nails. It retails for $24.50 in the US and $47.00 in Australia. I definitely wouldn't pay Australian prices for this but I'd consider grabbing it as a gift for a friend next time I place a Sephora order..

What's your favourite luxe product? Do you love a product that's soo overpriced but you can't seem to say no anyway? What's your favourite nail treatment?

Always look your best,
Sophie

  2. This sounds like a great product but I agree, I wouldn't buy this in Australian prices! I find our prices so ridiculous when compared to what people in the US pay! The exorbitant prices here have definitely stopped me from buying from high end brands!
