Maybelline Total Clean Express Eye & Lip Makeup Remover Review

I know it's bad but I never used to use a specific eye make up remover. Granted I use MAC's Cleanse Off Oil so it's not too bad but I always felt guilty about not using something specific for my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I tried a bunch but they always broke me out (including Bioderma - that was the worst of the lot) so I just gave up in the end.

The Maybelline Total Clean Express Eye & Lip Makeup Remover came free with a Maybelline Volum' Express Falsies Everlasting Mascara a while ago at Chemist Warehouse so I thought I'd give it a try and wow, I love it! I'm onto my third bottle now and, as you can see from the photo above, I'm well stocked.

To use the Maybelline Total Clean Express Eye & Lip Makeup Remover I shake the product. I then soak a cotton pad, hold it onto my eye for 5-10 seconds (depending on my eye make up) and wipe it away. I then turn the pad over and use the other side for the other eye. Unless I'm wearing a super vibrant lip colour that I really want off, I don't use this on the lips.

This is a dual phase make up remover, meaning there's an oil based component as well as a water based one. Given that the Maybelline Total Clean Express Eye & Lip Makeup Remover has an oil phase, I expected it to leave an oily residue around the eye and, to my surprise, it doesn't really! I mean, I can feel that it's been used but it's not uncomfortable and I always remove my make up and wash my face after so it really doesn't matter!

When I use the Maybelline Total Clean Express Eye & Lip Makeup Remover I find that a majority of my eye make up is removed. Sometimes there's a little mascara left but hey, I always find some brands particularly difficult to take off.

All in all, I think this is a fantastic product. I'm so glad to have finally found an eye make up remover that works well and doesn't break me out and I've recommended it to so many people since discovering it! If you're looking for a good eye and lip makeup remover, check this one out. It's only $6.95 at Priceline!

Have you tried this? Let me know! What's your favourite eye makeup remover?

Always look your best,
Sophie
